The last 2 AC titles really feel like Assassin's Creed gimmicks, I'm sorry. Yes there is a lot of content and grinding (which seems to be all the rage nowadays), but it doesn't have the vibe I fell in love with when I first started playing.

Back in the days Assassin's Creed used to have a more serious, mystical and atmospheric tone, almost giving you the feeling that you were actually transported back in time. For me it felt next level. Something I never experienced before in gaming, combined with a story better than most AAA movies as well, but nowadays Assassin's Creed has lost that sense of immersion and has become less serious and far less grounded. The storyline also turned from genius into a joke. I guess it's because different people are in charge now with different life philosophies and creative visions. Well.. at least they brought back Jesper Kyd back into the mix for the soundtrack.

I also really hope we will play as an actual assassin again in the next game, killing off corrupted templars.

    Peace

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

    Naahh...

I wasn't a fan of neither AC1 nor AC2's gameplay, so I have to strongly disagree. Stories were good, but far from "better than most AAA movies".

Imo, Origins was great and Odyssey even better, so no, I don't want to "go back to the roots". Calling the stories in these games "a joke" is quite an exaggeration, to put it extremely mildly. Besides, AC's gameplay mechanics have never been better than in those 2 games.

Making the future games more "assassinish" would be a good ting, though.

With that said, going from Valhalla to almost ANY of the previous games' systems would be an improvement to, because at least after AC 1 and 2, I think Valhalla is the worst game in the main series.

i agree the past games had a story you followed there was always story either having the simulation interrupted to finally get to the real story these games are a simulation mostly and i liked the modern day story, putting tons of things to do in a game also makes players forget the story they are playing i want to go through a story nonstop i want a more linear game again

I love the innovations. Absolute stunning combat all new, with emphasis on player skill. The Story telling and fast passed progress.
Its a new AC. Sure, might not be for everyone.
    Bugs go over time.

Like the AC movie for example. It didn't even come close to the original storyline and vibe. No mystery, no mindf*cks, just plain hollywood action, like the last AC games. damage sponge hack 'n slash.

I do need to say that Darby added some proper mindf*cks in the mix of Valhalla's storyline tho. Tough job considering the mess they made of the modern day

Assassins'creed used to be something original, with its own identity, vibe and style. Nowdays its more like a witcher/demon's wanabee, with the animations of an Elder scrolls game..
    Remember Unity's facial animations?
