I think the game engine itself has problems spawning objects at times, and it's NOT quest specific. Most of the time this bug occurs when loading a game from a save where that save has the object spawned already. A few examples of the occurrences I've encountered are as follows:

    • During the Nudist world event, while Eivor was in the Nudist camp, I tried to change the change the Show Nudity setting, which caused the game to reload. After the game reloaded, I talked to one of the NPCs who told Eivor about the clothes box "hidden by the tent." For the life of me, I couldn't find one at the tent.
    • During the Asgard questline, in the Well of Urdr solving the light puzzle, I quick-saved in the middle, and quit the game. Later on I loaded the quick save, and the ray of light that was supposed to be there was gone. I reloaded to an earlier auto save and the ray of light returned again.
    • During the Saint Albanes Abbey Raid, there was a resource chest behind breakable rocks that normally could be destroyed by an oil jar's explosion. I spent a good 20 minutes wandering around the area, either with Eivor or with his raven Synyn, searching for an oil jar because I could've sworn I saw one during the battle, but I couldn't find one. Eventually I loaded the latest save and did the raid again, and the oil jars were right there.
  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.
