@agentc824 don't bother with traders, after the patch i got the additional fabric in 5 new high level treasure loot, which are not lacking on the map.

@jeje_71 Except the chests won't drop them either. It's like the players hit a code wall that said "after 77 do not drop fabric" and the update pushed that to 82, but did not revert the coding to help players that already had the original 77 limit active.

i noticed after the update they said fabric amount was increased and it was also added to shops for level 6 settlements. it’s been a few days, i still cannot buy it from my shop, and i also can’t get it in chests. what’s going on?

@timothy8132000 Hello there, my apologies for the issues you are running into. Could you tell me if any of your pouches (rations and arrows) are fully upgraded? Could you also provide me in further details the chests you are unable to open and the locations on the map?

@nightmarity_xbl well i'm sorry to hear that in addition to the developers not having set the max number correctly from the start, there may also be an unrelated bug where the counter is f... up!

@ubi-smash I have the same issue. My quiver is fully upgraded, for my last rations pouch upgrade I'm missing 5 fabric (used it for the altar). Settlement is lvl6 and I looted 30-40 chests in high level areas without getting any fabric.

I'm not getting any from those either. I've been working on clearing everything off the map and only have Gloucestershire left to loot. Granted i only need to upgrade my rations bag one more time but maybe I'll get lucky there

@ubi-smash i have my quiver fully upgraded, i’m at 14 fabric and need 7 more to max out my rations, and another five to complete the altar. i’ve looted every chest in areas over 160, up to 340. i haven’t been able to get fabric in at least the last 60 hours of playtime

@elyar85 Thank you for the update. I am sorry this causes a difficulty in progression at this time, however, our team is currently looking into this and are further investigating the cause of this moving forward.

Yeah crazy well over power 100 and never gotten a single fabric drop. But hey I find pillows and dolls everywhere! Has there been any acknowledgement if this is truly a bug or being addressed?

if the traders uses the same rule as the coffers (only offer when the game think you're missing some) and your fabric count is f....ed up, i guess you won't get anymore from either source until they fix yet another problem which is different from the bad number of needed fabric they fixed...

i begin to suspect that a lot of bugs in this game (quests stuck, events stuck,etc...) comes from them having asynchronous code which sometimes does not get executed in the expected order (because of performance problem maybe) and then i creates a whole lot of problems afterward.

i've seen lots of badly done code which would work under normal circumstances (like task A is charged with updating a counter and task B uses this counter, and most of the times task A finishes before task B access to counter so it's all good, but in some cases task A has not updated the counter yet and since there is no check for task A status, task B uses an invalid counter and then all kind of hell unleashes...)

which would explain why there seems to be a lot of problem on ps4 (is on the lower part of the spectrum in term of hardware)

@sliktaylor As mentioned in the original post. There was an update to correct this. For us it did not. In your case I would suggest running raids. Monasteries seem to have chests that drop them the most. But there is a finite amount overall. The update was to increase that amount to 82 to cover the amount needed after upgrades to do the altar that requires 5 fabric as an offering. We here did not get our saves fixed via said update. So try monasteries, barricades, camps, ect that have the raid option. If you don't get drops after running those then you have an issue. 😉

@SlikTaylor Oh and BTW. If the update worked for you. You should have fabric available to buy at a merchant. Forgot to mention that.

I already finished all collectibles except the small chests. I can't get any fabric anymore and that means I can't upgrade my rations. I am missing exactly 5. Ubisoft said they would allow us to buy it in the settlement, but the merchant there doesn't sell it.

I'm all maxed out in every aspect (gear, skills, settlement) and I have 95% of England cleared. Only Eurviscire left to clear. I come across the shrine and I needed to offer 5 fabrics so I checked my inventory and I have 0. I realized (a little too late) I wasn't getting any fabrics from chests from any region ranging from hamtunscire (340 power) to East anglia (55 power). this was hours of clearing zones as well.

So the latest patch says I can buy fabric when my town is level 6 (and it is) but my merchant doesn't offer that. So I check other merchants from all kinds of regions but they still didn't offer fabric. They all have the same inventory. I restarted the game, my console, and even re installed the game and update myself and it didn't work. I also tried the PS4 version of the game.

I also loaded up a save before my settlement reached lv6. Even after reaching lv6 again, none of the merchants had fabric to sell. The only "new" thing I saw was a scroll (5x) that gives 1 skill point. I bought out the stock to check if it would be replaced by fabric but nope.

This is such a shame because I literally cannot 100% the game because of... fabric.

I cannot update my quiver because when I open chests, there is not fabrics. I only need three fabrics for the last updated. I have all Eivor's food updated.

@sofajockey dude I played the game 150 hours, I know everything! do u realy expect that I miss such a detail. I reached the cap of fabric, you don't get anymore from chest or trader. I cannot understand why it is caped, there is no matter to do this -.- Its just a simple solution: Buy it from trader and sell it to trader without a cap. I don't know what is the problem. There were poeple which dont get one single fabric and they increase the amount by 5. What shell they do now? Upgrade the quiver by one level or what=? I am really angry by the way now, because I paid for the ultimate version. And my game is broken like that -.- Normaly it doesnt matter for me if they work on a solution, but here, I dont know everything. The support is closed, noooo answer on email or something else. It is like you buy a car and the shopowner said: "Here is your car without wheels, have fun!", and closed the door.

@msiloveme2 dude I feel like you, I have the same problem. The patch was just for the guys which are 5 fabric left for the quest. I cannot understand why there must be a cap. No body matters if there 0 or 300 fabric in inventory...
