    im still having the issue i only see buy option with discount currently going on, tried that turkish account thing and its the same. Though the dvd is installed but it shows that I haven’t get it or ask for buy option in store

    Hello everyone,

    I am glad to see that so many of you were able to upgrade your PS4 copies of Assassin's Creed Valhalla to the PS5 versions now!

    This issue should be resolved, however if anyone should still be struggling to upgrade, please let us know and we'll look into this further with you. Please state your country of residence, the country your PSN account is registered to, as well as providing images of your disc / box for us to review. Thanks! 🙂

    @ubi-raziel i just got a ps5 and there is STILL not an upgrade option to get my physical ps4 version to the ps5. I'm in Czech republic by the way. It's extremely discouraging as you can imagine.

    I have an American psn account and my ps5 console is registered in Czech Republic (where it was bought along with the game) and there is not an upgrade option for my physical ps4 version. I see other people are not having an issue with it and would really appreciate help. It’s discouraging to buy a game in the knowledge that I’d be able to upgrade it and cannot.

    I apologise for the delayed update. As mentioned by my colleague @Ubi-Raziel, this issue should now be resolved.

    If you are still having trouble upgrading your copy of Assassin's Creed: Valhalla from PS4 to PS5, please ensure that you have completed all of these steps first, as these steps will guide you through how to upgrade eligible games.

    If you're still unable to upgrade your game, I would recommend opening a support ticket so our team can take a closer look at this for you. You can open a support ticket in the following ways:

    When opening a support ticket, please include the following information:

    • Your country of residence
    • The country your PSN account is registered to
    • If you own the physical version of the game, please include images of the front/spine/back of your game box. The best way to do this is to open the game box, lie it flat and then take a clear photo.
    • If you own the digital version of the game, please include a full-screen image of your proof of purchase, as displayed on your console.

    @gromulus85 - If you've still been unable to upgrade your PS4 version of the game to PS5, please can you ensure that you have followed all of the steps listed above? Otherwise, please can you open a support ticket so our team can take a closer look.

    @bluestape - It sounds like you may have encountered a region lock issue, as your account is set to a different region to where the game was purchased from. I would recommend contacting PlayStation support for further assistance.

    Sorry to revive an older topic, but I guess it is better than starting a new one.

    I just got my PS5 (US). I already owned Assassin's Creed Valhalla. While setting up the PS5, it prompted me to download Valhalla, so I said yes. It downloaded the PS4 version. I tried manually downloading the PS5 version and deleting the PS4 version, but it still keeps showing the PS4 version. I deleted everything, but I can't figure out how to download the PS5 version only. What am I missing?

    @virtualawesome To update my post, I think I got it to install the right version. It doesn't say it is the PS5 version. My "..." menu allows me to select the PS4 version, which should not be installed at this point. I think that indicates that I have the PS5 version installed. They don't make it very clear. If there is another way to verify the version, please let me know.

    Thank you for your updates!

    Your console should automatically download the PS5 version - the PS5 menu doesn't actually specify ''PS5 version'', as I tested it as well - however, if you have PS4 disc, you will notice that you can also download the PS4 version that can be later on deleted from your console if the PS5 version is also installed 🙂

    As an example for the PS4 disc version, you can install both the PS5 version and the PS4 version - the download should automatically allow you to install your PS5 version and your data management will show the following:

    • Assassin's Creed: Valhalla -> this is your PS5 version installed;
    • Assassins' Creed: Valhalla (PS4) -> this is an additional PS4 version installed.

    The same rule applies for digital purchases, as the game offers a free upgrade to the PS5 version!

    @ubi-mark This isn't working and Sony instructions seem WRONG. I don't have a disc. I originally downloaded it and all add-ons. I'm having no luck and I'm not happy at all. What's the deal Ubisoft? Players have been reporting similar issues for almost ONE YEAR.

    Welcome to Discussions, @sd_660! I'm sorry to hear that you are struggling to upgrade your copy of Assassin's Creed Valhalla to the PS5 version from your PS4 version.

    Can you please clarify whether you see the PS5 version available in your collection / library to install? Can you provide us with a screenshot showing your options menu when hovering over the existing PS4 tile, to verify whether you have the option to swap between the versions you have access to to play?

    Any visual evidence of the issue that you can provide will be helpful, as I have a PS4 and PS5 myself and will do my best to walk you through the redemption process if you're struggling. 🙂 Thanks!

    I just bought the game and i cannot seem to upgrade it.. it's a region 2 game and i tried creating a separate turkish account and the game still wouldn't show the free upgrade..i even tried creating a saudi Arabian account to check..that didn't work either..can you guys kindly look into it please?

    Hey there @Musa_altair . Just to confirm, when you mention that you created a Turkish and Saudi Arabian account, are you talking about a Ubisoft Account, or a PlayStation account? The game's region does need to match that of the PlayStation's account as well as ours for it to work properly.
