I choose gallin as the traitor, but soma executes Birna, if I choose lif then she executes lif, if I choose Birna she executes Birna, there is no way to have gallin executed
This has ruined the game for me

I have the same problem. No matter who I chose, Soma kills Birna. Tried everything suggested, but it still doesn't work. Ubisoft when is this going to get fixed ?

same here, no matter who i choose, she always kills lif, i need a workaround or something

@mitchthompson94 Same thing is happening to me, hopefully ubisoft patches this.

I've found all the clues i possibly could including the bucket of paint near the river, and galinn's painted longship, I've spoke to everyone in the town and spoke to all 3 characters, even tried to go back and do a couple other quests before re trying this one, same problem keeps happening just want Birna to join my clan

@Ubi-Spud, for what it's worth I have an idea as to what the root cause is:

When selecting a person to accuse for the first time from the dialog tree, the selection color of the text will transition from white to grey, indicating that you already explored that option. My theory is that the person Soma accuses of being a traitor is the most recent person whose dialog tree option transitioned from white to grey as @jebabiah also suggests.

When I was first choosing people to accuse, I first selected Galinn (since it seemed like it was obviously him) so then when Soma asked me to confirm, I said that I needed to think about it more (since I thought that maybe the true traitor would have painted Galinn's boat yellow to throw me off). So I then picked Lif, and then Brina just to see what the dialog would sound like, but then I decided that it must have been Galinn.

Brina was the last choice I picked before all the other options were greyed out, and now she is the only one being consistently killed (since every other characters dialog option is also greyed out).

Hey guys! Thanks for getting in touch. We're aware of this issue and the current workaround is to reload a previous save. Not ideal if you haven't saved recently and I am sorry for any lost progress due to this! Any updates regarding this issue will be communicated when available.

@ubi-spud How is this a work-around? We have to go back and replay hours of the game just to fix this minor issue? The game is already comprehensive and time consuming as is. This bug should be fixed ASAP as it sours the outlook of the game.

@ubi-spud Yeah that is not ideal since I have progressed down other quest lines since encountering this bug and I would lose a lot of progress by doing that.

Could we get an ETA on when the fix will be rolled out? This way I can decide whether it makes more sense to wait for the fix or just bite the bullet and revert to a very old save if need be.

So i found all the clues and know that its galinn but when i chooses him or anyone else, she ends up always killing brinia. Please fix. Here a video from someone else but its a good example.

i am unable to select the correct person to accuse, I’ve made my decision and no matter who I select in my choice the game tells me that I’ve selected The first option even though I have not I’ve relaunched the game multiple times and why of reinstalling the game, I’ve no idea what to do.
for the time being I’ve decided to carry on and do other bits, but please could this issue get resolved so I may carry on with my adventure

@ubi-spud I have played through other questlines in the meantime, in the hope that it might be solved by the time I'm done. Going back to a saved game will erase more than 15h of gameplay, so it is not an option for many of us. Can we get a proper, transparent information about your progress on this issue and when it might be solved ?

@ubi-spud This is not acceptable. And not at all a "workaround". The game seems to save up to 5 autosaves, which are by now all more or less at the same time before the quest, so no matter which one I load, it will always be stuck on the same bug.
The last older save is from 8 game-hours ago, which I'd have to play again from scratch.
I will not continue playing and I will not buy any other ubisoft title when this goes on. There must be a solution and it must be quick. As mentioned by @Hydro666 the bug is not even mentioned in the "known issues" thread. Why?

I might even consider refunding the game and getting my money back. When it takes me hours and hours of additional time to play the game properly, I can just as well buy it some weeks later for about half the original price. Can't I?

I'm a very loyal supporter of Ubisoft and their games. But a bug that halts the whole main story of a game for many players can't be it.
