did you guys decide “hey let’s put anything BUT Viking style armor in game”

“let’s put nice proper sized weapons in game but let’s make them grow hilariously when unsheathed”

”let’s put plates and gold on all mythic armor and weapons, and by all we pretty much mean all”

“hey let’s put massive pauldrons on most cloaks that keep getting bigger each upgrade”

last but not least

”One-handed swords are icky” (no one handed swords for player)

im sorry but some idiot made these decisions, it wasn’t a damn wall that came up with this crap.

please ubi who ever was in charge of these crap decisions should probably take a seat at the back of the bus next time, people are not happy with what your armor and weapons devs have done you can tell just by a casual skim of the forums.

in any other job industry these guys would probably get canned for so many very bad decisions but they work in the gaming industry so their lucky they don’t get fired like us real folks.

Nice to see the raven helping out stealing from the dead, quite funny to race it to the carcass of an animal or NPC, Quite surprised it picks up all items except arrows so if you need them you still have to go to the corpse to retrieve them.

Also surprising it does it in River Raids yet isn't available to use to view the area.

Any one else got any views/ comments?

I'm about 14 hours into the game. And while I am enjoying it, it also doesn't really feel like an assassins creed installment. So far almost all of the fighting has just been straight up combat and none of the sneaky stealthy stalking that I really liked with the AC games. Unless I am missing some things (which I'm not saying isn't possible) it looks you can't complete the game without engaging in some massive straight up melee combat since you need to get help forcing open some of the doors to get the supplies locked behind them. Not to mention when you think of vikings, you don't really think of them being quiet and stealthy.

The assassins so far are barely a footnote in this game. The main character isn't an assassin and it looks like maybe wont even become an assassin. Or at least not any time soon. And when you kill any of the templars, besides the cut scene, there's really nothing special about it. You don't get any cool gear, you dont get any sort of progress in terms of the assassins. You hand in 4 medallions and get a new ability without any fanfare or build up.

And so far the side-story with the Asgardians is pretty underwhelming. It doesn't really feel any different from the main story. Other then getting to see Thor fly in an fry some frost giants with lightning once, they don't feel any different from the characters in the main story line. I only completed the first mission in that story arc. But I don't really have any desire to go back to it since it doesn't feel that different from the main story line.

If i had to sum up my impression of AC:V so far, it would be that it's a good game, but it's not an assassins creed game.
