Hello Ubisoft
I understand that this game requires DirectX 12 (FL 12_0), however, will there be any plans to enable people to play this game with graphic cards that can only use DirectX 12 (FL 11_0) or DirectX 11 by patching it later down the track?
For some reason, I heard that Watch Dogs Legion works fine with DirectX 12 (FL 11_0) which was released around the same time. I don't understand why it's not the case for Assassin's Creed Valhalla, could you please explain this?
Lots of people, including me who use laptops have had this issue since launch. I believe that many of us can still play this game but on lower settings with our current setup if there was no DirectX restriction. My experience with this game is that I cannot start it past the loading screen without an error message for DX12.
Hello there @Megadethklok18! Welcome to the forums
I've merged your post into this Megathread, so I apologise for any confusion that may have been caused.
As shared by my colleague @Ubi-Woofer, DirectX 12 and Feature Level 12_0 support are the minimum requirements to run Assassin's Creed: Valhalla. We are unable to speculate on why the requirements for Assassin's Creed: Valhalla may be different when compared to other games. There are currently no plans to add Feature Level 11_1 or below support that we have been made aware of. I understand that this may not be the answer you were hoping for, and apologise for any disappointment that might have been caused.
We have passed on the feedback that has been shared to the development team. If any changes are to be made, this information will be shared on our official platforms.
Thank you
@ubi-woofer Hi there.
What are the reasons for pushing DirectX 12 Feature Level 12? Why do I have to go and buy a $1,200 Video card just to play a game that cost me $130?
When I bought this game I also bought WatchDogs Legion. That at least has a switch in it to allow for DirectX 11 (-dx11 on the startup parameters.)
Why can't this feature simply be added into the existing game? Sure it takes a minor performance hit... But at least I can play the game I paid for... And enjoy it.
Currently this is only taking up HDD Space as I can't get it to run.
Why is there so much back-push on this topic? Give the people what they want ... And make your lives and our lives easier.
Otherwise I won't be bothering purchasing the next set of Assassins Creed Games...
By the time I actually NEED a DX12 Card, you'll be pushing DX14 and I'll be back to Square 1.
Hello there @El-Gazzito! Welcome to the forums
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. As mentioned in my earlier post, it is a minimum system requirement to have DirectX12 (Feature Level 12_0) to be able to run Assassin's Creed: Valhalla. The development team has not shared any plans to add Feature Level 11_1 or lower support at this time. I understand that this may not be the answer you were hoping for, and apologise for any disappointment caused.
We have passed the feedback shared within this thread to the dedicated teams for further consideration. Please note that we are unable to promise that this support will be added to the game in the future. If the minimum requirements of the game are to change, this information will be shared within the News & Announcements forum and on our official platforms.
If you do not meet the minimum requirements to run the game, you are welcome to open a support ticket to submit a refund request. These requests are considered on a case-by-case basis, and I'd recommend taking a look at the digital refunds policy prior to opening a ticket.
Thank you
Hello there,
As we have had no reports of this issue within this thread for some time, we will now be locking this thread.
If you encounter any further trouble with DirectX 12 support, please don't hesitate to create a new thread so we can investigate further.
Thanks!
