    @le-bad [Removed 04/03/2021]
NB: Disabling your Intel display adapter after getting home from a couple of pints at the pub is a VERY BAD IDEA - it produces the black screen of death for which there is no easy solution.
You have to open up your computer, pull the CMOS battery for a minute for so and reboot into the BIOS to get something back on screen.
You may also have to pull your GPU card, reboot and re-enable the adapter from the default lo-res internal graphics before you can get Windows to use your GPU again.

@missouridude Yeah, but they ain't going to get any more sales from me or anyone else as word gets out.

I am still waiting for my refund. I am not going to buy a graphics card for U$300 for one game. NO WAY IN HELL. Please be so kind to refund me. I am still waiting for my refund. Upgrading my gear should be my choice and not a socialist idea (everyone should upgrade). Thank you very much. My desktop met the directx12 requirements but I had to apperently know directx12 has a lower and higher level. I am not a computer guru. if my specs say directx12 and I read on ubisoft site that directx12 is required, 2 plus 2 is 4 do not go on an explanation of how calculus says it is different. Ubisoft should just have been frank with everyone. What do you mean directx12? I have that, and my game is not playing. so please be so kind and clarify directx12 and even then give me back my money. I worked hard for my money to be lied to by a someone who has no regard for how many other games I wanted to buy but choose to by AC Valhalla during my rest time. Or better I could have invested my gift money into buying a graphics card, or a monitor, mouse, or what I even want now more than ever an Xbox. So, please I have not heard from ubisoft since I opened two cases with them. One for this issue of directx12 and after not hearing from them one for a refund.

Try install dxcpl (32 or 64, depends on your system), run it, Edit List and add Vahalla to it, go back to first site of dxcpl, set the hook at Force WARP and then try to run it. I had the same message :unable to initialize graphics system...., after that it did start, but extrem slow...

Correction: with my GTX 760 its slomo now - unplayable

    Hello everyone,

I sincerely apologise for the delayed responses to this thread. Please refer to my individual replies to you all below, and let me know if any additional assistance or information is required at this time. To confirm, at present, there has been no change in the system requirements for Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and a GPU with DirectX 12 Feature Level 12_0 support is necessary in order to play the game. I am not aware of any plans on the part of the developers to introduce support for any Feature Levels below this.

@Battle_Ruler - From the MSINFO and DXDIAG you provided in your support case 13433948 in November, I can see that your dedicated GPU does support Feature Level 12_0. Were you able to get the game to run successfully after following the troubleshooting advice provided by my colleague?

@KINGBOSSPOWER - I previously passed forward the sentiments and feedback expressed in this thread regarding the introduction of Feature Level 11_0 support, however at this time, I am not aware of any plans by the developers to introduce Feature Level 11_0 support. Should support be introduced, I will let everyone in this thread know. At present, the game supports only Feature Level 12_0 and above.

@missouridude - I am glad to hear that, using your new GPU, Assassin's Creed Valhalla runs perfectly for you. I sincerely hope that you have been enjoying the game.

@fuaubu_al - Did you previously submit a support case to us for us to look further into this? As above, Assassin's Creed Valhalla supports only Feature Level 12_0 at present. If you were able to run the game previously, I am glad that you were able to do so, but we'll need to verify that your system meets the minimum specifications in order to troubleshoot this further. If it does not, I'm afraid we will not be able to make the game run, but if it does, we will do our best to return you to your viking saga as soon as possible.

@BernadusUaku - I can see from your support case 13708622 that we attempted to perform verification for your account, but never received a response from yourself nor this process completed, and as such we could not proceed further with your refund request. If you would still like to proceed, we may still be able to consider this request if you can complete our verification process. For your reference, the requirement for Feature Level 12_0 support is stated in our system requirements support article; I would recommend checking for a similar article for any game of ours you may wish to purchase in the future, to make sure that your system fully meets all requirements before purchasing! 🙂

@ginovanta - From the NVIDIA website I can see that the 950M does support DirectX 12, however, checking this card against the minimum system requirements, I don't believe the GPU itself was powerful enough to run Valhalla regardless. 😞 I am glad to hear that you were able to receive a refund due to your system not being able to run the game. If you did pick it up on Stadia, I hope that you've been enjoying it that way!

@Masti199206 - Can you please send us your MSINFO and DXDIAG files in a support case if you haven't done so already, and we can then analyse these and offer troubleshooting steps? I'll be happy to assist you further that way if you can leave your case reference number here in the thread. Thanks! 🙂

there IS a way to run this game on dx11 gpus
it can be done through WARP? which is a microsoft tool
you can read more here https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/direct3darticles/directx-warp: (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/direct3darticles/directx-warp)
    and here https://gamedev.stackexchange.com/questions/24206/forcing-a-game-to-use-direct3d-warp: (https://gamedev.stackexchange.com/questions/24206/forcing-a-game-to-use-direct3d-warp)
i'm gonna check it out but i doubt you can get any performance from a software rasterizer

@tvitanda I had same problem with my GTX 970M. I updated my Geforce drives and setup GeForce Experience application. Optimize games on GeForce Experience and click play directly from the GeForce Experience. It works to me.

Hello! I would like to know if Valhalla will have dx12 support in addition to dx11? That might solve the problem. A lot of players have saved for this game. In the current situation, people may have little money for food, not a new video card. The valhalla might forget the problems with people for a while. I hope the development team will consider this as well, not just the hassle that comes with it. That would be a good point from Ubisoft and not a few players would bet their hearts. Thanks!

Hi, I want to make it possible for gamers to support DirectX11 instead of DirectX12 in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, because people are not able to buy a new graphics card because of Korna. Thank you.

Hello there @holyswordman! Welcome to the forums 🙂

I'm sorry to hear you're encountering trouble when launching the game. I've checked your GPU against the system requirements, and it looks like you don't meet these requirements. This will be why you're encountering trouble playing the game.

As you don't meet the minimum requirements to run the game, we won't be able to provide you with further support. You are welcome to try these PC troubleshooting steps to see if these will help to alleviate the issues you're encountering, though we cannot guarantee they will work.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out.

    Thanks! 😊
