@x0z3ro0x Edit: I would also like to add that seeing DX 12 does not mean your card supports it. Many cards claim DX12 support but then can only run up to DX12(11.0) or DX12(11.1). This is NOT the latest DX12. The latest DX 12 you need to run the game is DX12(12_0). You can find this out by any number of tools but I recommend just using the built in dxdiag. If you find yourself on DX12 with 11.1 and under, you are NOT DX12 and your game will fail to start.

    Hello everyone

I have the same problem with DX12 issue. I requested for a refund but Ubisoft infromed me that my request is not eligible. I guess this is because it has been a pre-order. Well i have a game that i cant' play and i don't understand why i can't take my money back. I can't understand also the difference between the refund policy of pre-orders and orders. Anyway its very sad, but life goes on. The only thing that is going to stop is me buying again games from Ubisoft.

@skodri5 Just try not to pre-order, its very easy to get hyped up since Ubisoft tend to advertise their games quite well. I already know that Ubisoft has an awful track record for PC ports/versions. This game is no different. The only choice I had was to lock the framerate to 30fps and its very smooth now (and everything is on Ultra at 4K, using an RTX 3080). I thought DX12 would revolutionise these games and the performance aspect but instead both this and WatchDogs are turds.

@skodri5 If they refuse mine I will do a CC chargeback..not paying for a game that is unplayable.

I don't think they're gonna refund anyone. Technically speaking, Ubisoft was clear about the directX 12 fl12_0 requirements (in reality not really but that's another matter), so legally, they're safe undefined

that's nice and all but for those who cant still oppen it even having undefined

@parasfm perhaps it's the fact you have a card with a driver from 2016. Only a developer can answer that for sure, as I said in my post,

It's very possible this is an issue with the game, it's also entirely possible that the cards experiencing this issue are simply old and the updates used to force DX 12 support are failing.

You have an old card if the last update to it's drivers are from 2016. As gamers we need to remember gaming is a privilege, not a right. The sad reality is, gaming computers require constant maintenance and upgrades to stay relevant and playing the latest games. Not doing so results in more issues as time passes, and yes some people cannot afford to buy an updated card. In which case you cannot afford to play the latest games either. I hope they do get it working for you, especially if your card can play the game even on low settings. However don't be one of those users who compares games as if being able to play one game, means you should play another. It doesn't work like that. Best of luck to you!

maybe because you dont have a dGPU....

igdumdim64.dll is related to Intel HD Graphics -> Intel CPU integrated graphic Chip

Even in a case where you have a dGPU, but without a DX12 FL12_0 support, your CPU integraded Graphicchip won't help you to be able to play ACV

Feel free to post your dGPU Name+Model for further Support.

@thezonk88 Very useful, I could tell it was old, but I had no idea they were using integrated graphics. Thanks for posting that.

I have managed to get the game working by following some screenshots on the other ac odyssey thread, but it’s very slow, does anyone know how I could get round that will contact ubisoft my self Saturday, working at the minute. The graphics were great but took 7 minutes to load.

@bootneck89 I really hope that CDPR doesn't delay the game just to add the same damn direct x 12 bs.

there are many users who could run Watch dogs Legion but even cannot launch ACV. Since the game is only for dx12 but many of them still want to play. Is there any plan to able vulkan, dx11 or lowering entrance of the game?

    wo.. take it easy
You act like a computer retailer who makes a living by stealing unjust margins from customers.

I can run Watch dogs legions with high settings but ACV even cannot start the game.

Join to the question. Didn't notice the dx12 requirement during the summer pre-order. Therefore, I was very upset when, after waiting for the launch hour, I could not play.
