Xbox one x version has bad screen tearing. It is also mentioned in early reviews. Is it going to be fixed soon?

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

    Hi Vikings!

I am currently doing a routine check-up on the megathreads. It was announced in June 2022 that the development team would be unable to continue looking into potential solutions to instances of screen tearing or FPS drops. After ongoing improvements aimed to fully address the issue it was not be possible to resolve this concern completely for all players.

As this particular issue will no longer be investigated we will now lock this thread.

If you do experience any issues with screen tearing of FPS drops on your console then please go through the troubleshooting if you haven't already done so then try again.

Hello I do not yet own the game but I noticed on the streams and on comparison videos that the game had a problem with tearing and a framerate which goes from 30 to 35 fps at times giving a feeling of lag ... Do you think this will be fixed by the day one patch or in a future patch? thank you !

The FPS in the xbox one x version of Valhalla runs pretty poor. It shoots up to about 39fps and screen tears pretty much all the time. Does anyone know if this will be remedied?

This is happening to me as well. It's very distracting, really shouldn't be happening.

Despite powerful Xbox One X, there is regularly screen tearing in starting places. Odyssey and Origins didn't have this kind of issue, so could you please fix it or add an option so we could choose to force vsync.

The screen tearing in this game is absolutely horrible. Please tell me you are rushing to fix this because it is giving me a headache. For a AAA game in 2020 to have this is an embarrassment.

Why do think I switched to ps4 pro. Xbox one x was horrid also on a lot of games, lack of customer service as well. No issues on ps4 pro so far

So far so good the game plays pretty well but the screen tearing is insane and very distracting.

@karmachaositgp on almost any other games side by side the X is a lot better than the Pro. True 4K is unmatched.

@variousspices @Karmachaositgp Higher resolution is nice, but not at the cost of this headache inducing screen tearing. Origins and Odyssey had a better implementation of Dynamic Resolution, Ubisoft must fix it in Valhalla as well.

The constant screen tearing on the Xbox one X is making me regret spending £50 on this game. PLEASE FIX THIS UBISOFT!

Has anyone found any way to improve this at all?

Really disappointing that a game can be released like this. People are even reporting this issue on the series X.

AC Valhalla is having a lot of performance issues on Xbox One S and X, not just frames drops (not to much to worry about it) but the game doesn´t look polish as AC Origins or Odissey.... it looks kinda blurry, with render issues on near textures, this happen even in One X to much Next Gen Oriented I guess ....

@guest-lzfb2eeg on PS4 slim, The game is unplayable on combats and cities. There os a lot of frame drops

It is very strange that this is happening now .... the last 2 AC had some errors .... (Odyssey more than Origins), but they looked amazin .... Valhalla is something else ..... too much to correct.... not the "normal buggy release experience" at all...

@rapiereuplay It's so distracting, the screen tearing is almost constant. Does it improve later in the game for you?

Got awful screen tearing on the Xbox one x version. Very off putting. It doesn't appear in the known issues list for some reason. Please fix after any game breaking bugs. This should not have released like this.

Just so it is noted, same thing is happening on the Xbox One (that somehow has worse graphics than Origins) too.

Can Ubisoft address that they are working on the huge amount of screen tearing on Xbox One and Xbox One X? I'd like to know that it is being worked on.
