Hello everyone!
As several of you are already aware, we were able to implement a hotfix for this issue with speaking to Ubba in The Sons of Ragnar early yesterday evening. We posted a separate announcement thread about this over in the News & Announcements section, but I'll cross-post it here for your reference:We have deployed a server-side update which should allow most players to proceed with the Sons of Ragnar quest.
If you're still unable to interact with Ubba, please try the following workaround:
- Create a manual save
- Shutdown the game and relaunch it
(Desynchronizing, reloading a save, or returning to title screen is not enough)
- Load the save created above
- Eivor should be able to interact with Ubba and continue the quest
Note: To have the quest UI elements appear, you'll need to have pledged for Lincolnscire.
Note: If you reload the game before interacting with Ubba, to continue the quest, you'll need to shutdown and relaunch the game before being able to interact with Ubba again.This hotfix comes ahead of the update where the developers plan to implement a permanent fix, so should the hotfix not work for you, please do not worry - we are working to get this fixed for everyone very soon. I'll be able to tell you more about the full fix when the details of it become available.

I am glad to see that for so many of you, the hotfix has been successful, and hope that it will allow other players who haven't yet been able to reply here again to progress as well. @Nicotaco87 @Petteflet88 Super happy to see that you're both able to continue playing following the hotfix. I know you've both been struggling with being unable to progress with this quest for a while now, so I really do hope that you enjoy the rest of the game!
@DHangelfan16 We're working on fixing many other reported bugs, glitches and progression issues at the moment, with title update 1.1.0 fixing several today. So still after the new update i can not go further in the quest
yes now i was able to talk to ubba .. but that was about it ! Same monologue over and over again! After that the ability to speak with him vanished again.. back at it again as it was before the new update..
I can’t believe it this is outrageous! How can you fix something not properly which is like an error since 2 months ??? -
@illmatic1994nas Hey there - can you provide a video showing the behaviour you're describing? Can you also please confirm that you've tried reloading a previous save, and restarting your game client?

i can save and load the game and fast travel the only bugs i have is with quests -> main and side ... !

Huzzah! We downloaded the update and my husband was able to talk to Ubba and progress. His previously chosen conversation option was greyed out, but that's okay, it's a very minor thing when he is able to actually get through this quest, haha. Now, off to check on fishing!

I am having the same issue as Illmatic1994NaS. It makes me speak to Ubba over and over and does not allow you to start the quest. And no i'm not gonna upload video for something you obviously cannot fix.
Same issue here...allows you to speak to Ubba over and over and does not progress. -

It works for me, Ubba was stood in a different position to last time and there was a dead horse near his feet and a boat still in the road but I've progressed, thank you

I’m now more than 100hrs in. After update still can’t talk to Ubba. What gives? I’ve all suggested “fixes”

@mzs627 When I first started the game post patch I also couldn't talk to Ubba. I saved the game, logged out to the title screen, closed the application (I am on PS4), started the game again, was able to talk to Ubba and progress in the quest line.
I am now up to the Heavy is the Head part of the kingmakers saga.

I have the same issue. I could talk to Ubba, but the quest marker over him didn't appeared. I was stuck in the same conversation loop. Then I've created save, traveled to Norway, get out from animus, restarted console.... and now the quest mark appeared. As well as the boat in the middle of the road and... I can't talk to Ubba again. Just like before the update.
Seriously? After over a month?
