I FOUND A SOLUTION <3. Mess around with video settings then try again. Mess with it until it works. The guy in this post states that he swaps to the highest setting, loading, going through the cutscene and then resetting his video settings. The highest setting didn't work for me. neither did the lowest. But what did work.... is do it in this order.
FROM MAIN MENU swap from whatever settings to ULTRA. When prompted to restart the game, do that. Restart, load, and it'll launch you into the conversation cutscene. DO NOT SKIP THE DIALOGUE. Let it play out. After much trial and error, it worked and this is what worked for me

Just let the cut-scene start, go to options..put graphics on ultra..game will restart..cut-scene plays though and didn't glitch/hang. was able to continue with game.

I have a similar issue. When we storm the beach and fight the battle, afterwards none of the NOC characters move or respond. I can go wherever, but the quest doesn't continue.

Seriously, all the guys are stuck together none of them can move not even my character I am playing. I hope you suddenly get sick of the forums getting blown up with bug reports. Maybe that will light a fire under your butt to do something about the game. Take a look at this absolutely stupid because now I cannot do anything because I am stuck here and it says map unavailable!

In the misson unwelcome, After i have talked to Yanli and Rowan, When the cutscen ends it loads. But when its loading Sigurd and Evior is stuck in eachother. How can i fix this??

I tried to relog uplay, restart pc, verify game files thinking that it would help me proceed to the next quest but im stucked standing with sigurd and dag for hours.

I played for about 5 houers in norway before i decided to go to england. After I found the hostiges in the longhouse in ragnarsons encampment there is a very long loading screen, and after that I cannot move. Tried reloading, restart the game, and restart my pc. Nothing helped.
Please fix as soon as possible, I fell hard for that game already.

when the game moves to the new level,It starts frozen .I can't move the character

i cant move the player, only i can put the hood but the character don't move.

@lazzeroverlord Same here. At the end of the quest "Unwelcome", the cinematic doesn't start and after a long loading screen, I'm stuck in the longhouse.

After the scene in the longhouse with Ruadan and Yanli, the other ship arrives and a new film sequence should start. In my case, no sequence comes, the loading screen appears, charges for about 1 min. and you can hear noises in the background. When the loading screen is gone again, the three are stuck in each other and nothing happens.

Hi there i had the same problem,
In the forum i found the solution.

1 change your graphics to ultra high on the main menu options(your game will restard)
2 go to the longhouse(if you are not there yet)
3 play the cutscene but don't touch any button.
4 wait until the cutscene ends(until you can move,after the part of the longhouse there is still the cutscene
5 change back to your original graphics(this restard your game again

Hopefully this works also for you guys.

Sorry for the effort I was able to solve the problem. Graphics settings simply need to be at the highest level.
