My boat will not sail after I sit down and Sigurd talks. I've tried several things and nothing is working.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

    Hello there!

As we have had no further reports of this issue persisting in-game following the release of TU 1.2.2, we will now be locking this thread.

If you encounter any further trouble when progressing in "The Seas of Fate," please don't hesitate to open up a new thread so we can take a closer look. When opening a new thread, please include as much information about the issue you're encountering as possible. Any images or videos that demonstrate the issue in-game are also helpful for further investigation.

    Thanks! 😊

I have the same problem here, my boat gets stuck in the middle of the sea and I can't do anything anymore.

When I get on a ahip and choose 'Sit' the screen goes dark and dialog plays but when the screen goes back on, instead of sailing like I saw it should be done on YT, they stay in place with the marker still saying board the ship. Can't do anything then, leave, use Raven, nothing. Tried rebooting, restarting save file, nothing helps.

Have the same issue here on PC. Tried restarting the game, loading an earlier save file and playing back up to it, etc. Just stuck in place on the boat unable to do anything. Really sucks, I was looking forward to playing this much more today 😕

I know there are a couple similar problems up on here already, but on the off chance having more posts about it helps Ubisoft to pay attention, I got through Seas of Fate until the point where you're told to board Sigurd's longboat, and once I do, the game loads for a bit, then dialogue starts and the camera cuts back in to show the boat just sitting at the dock while they talk. Can't move, can't use raven, can't look at the map, can only move the camera and change things about in my inventory. I know from an IGN article that in theory the ship is supposed to move and you're supposed to be pulled out of the animus, but that very much isn't happening 😕

Same exact thing for me as well, stuck on the docks in Sigurds boat after the sit animation clearly appeared bugged. Have tried multiple re-saves and interactions to attempt to make things work but to no avail. On top of that I an stuck inside the quest start and dont have access to the map and can not fast travel to re-save that way. Was looking forward to this game...

Well, I resolved my specific problem, and unfortunately the fix was as disappointing as the fact that these problems are around at all. I play at mostly medium settings, with some of them at high, and generally get around 30 fps, which I'm satisfied with, as low settings are genuinely abysmal, and while I can run high settings at about the same framerate, load times become untenable. As a last ditch effort to try to solve the bug, though, I turned the graphics down to low, and suddenly the game loaded in quick enough to show an animation of the boat pushing off that apparently, Ubisoft didn't code to play when you actually load in, but at a specific point in the dialogue. This choice is utterly baffling to me, given that the dialogue starts playing before you load in, but hey, at least I've figured out how to progress in the game I paid for 😕

@bo717 somehow got mine to work after 5+ hours. Idk if this is the reason but I walked all around the boat, climbed on both ends, climbed up the main sail, dropped down, looked at the seat until the triangle or button for sit popped up, then it worked lol.
