@ubi-woofer I have switched to PS5 and transferred over all my data from PS4 Pro, still encountering the same issue. Maybe put your testers and developers to try to get a lot of xp/increase the level,explore everything on the initial map and then proceed with the main story. It is really strange that it cannot be replicated when so many people have this problem.

Hi I have the same issue on PS5. I tried multiple side quests before getting stuck. I cannot interact with any NPCs now also. Some of my world events have become 'stuck' also. When I complete the Fly Agargic mushroom quest I get the correct order and it flashes to white, then it just remains in the hallucination until I walk outside the area (I have done the correct order, verified via youtube). The man being killed by the polar bear is active on the map and cannot be completed. The Drengr in the cave cannot be completed. The crazy man on the small island I spoke to him and when he says follow me does not move and remains on the world map.

I have played approximately 12 hours and would rather wait for a patch then to start again.

@ubi-woofer do the following to try to reproduce the error (bc it seems the players have experienced this):
1 Early in the game, just after Eivor save her friends and flee from the island, do not go back to the raven's camp. Stop at Stavanger.
2 Once there, go to the side quest of the seventh son of a seventh son who wishes ro kill something. When he starts to celebrate a victory, let a wolf kill him. This will bug this side quest and nothing can be done.
3 Now, go to the camp. Above the camp, there's a side quest of a lady who wishes a comb in the water. If you have the problem of most of the players, you can't talk to her and, if you try, the game will bug.
4 Now complete the main missions of the area, including the blacksmith and the seer, until reach the Sigurd's return.
This script seems to be the one players have done. Some did more of the side missions and treasure quests, but others did only this.

@guest-zrvvjeif I've deleted my game and started a new one in the end. But I can positively said that I let the guy from the side quest die too (a beark attacked and killed him), not validating that quest. Maybe it was a trigger indeed. Hope that can help!

Thank you for continuing to report issues with this quest to us. The developers have tried hard to reproduce the issue, but so far have been unsuccessful. I would therefore like to ask that as many players as possible submit their save files to us (only possible for PS4 and PC players) so that they can take a closer look at affected saves and hopefully find the root cause of the problem. Reproducing shouldn’t be too difficult. The only quest I completed out of the gate was “Seer’s Solace”. From there I just explored Norway, entering areas to get the wealth items. Also visiting the high points to open up markers. Once I started doing World events, that’s when things got dicey I think. Some worked for me (like throwing the guys crates over the cliff). Others I didn’t complete (like finding the hair brush around the waterfall because I got tired of liking). After that, I had my first real “problem”. It was with the guy in the cave that wants you to fight him. When I first approached, he just laid on the ground and didn’t do anything. No “Y” to speak or anything. Restarted the game a few times and once just stood there doing nothing next to him. Eventually out of the blue he finally said something and I was able to fight him. I lost miserably a few times and gave up and left. From there I did the event with the raid lovers. The wife went through her initial speech and went inside her house to “tell her husband”. I followed, but once inside, they just sat there. Again, not “Y” to talk. No speaking. Just sitting on a bench silent. I wrecked the place and nothing happened so I gave up. At that point, I had gotten all the wealth items, most of the artifacts, and all the high sight points. I gave up on world events.

i then went back home and launched Family Matters and Prodigal. I progressed until Sigurd said to go to the docks. Then, got the same error as everyone else. He said nothing and I couldn’t proceed. Restarting the mission or loading from previous save points did nothing.

the common theme I’m seeing with peoples complaints is that they explore extensively or attempt world missions before doing the core mission of family matters and prodigal prince. You should be able to recreate it by exploring to gain wealth and starting but not completing world missions it seems to me.

I've gotten to the point where I have to follow sigurd to the docks, and now we are just stood. I have loaded and reloaded a thousand times, changed saves to older ones etc.. and its just going no further. Its not the first one I have encountered, several 'mysteries' i cant complete because I cant talk to the NPC involved.

What the hell ubisoft? £59.99 and I cant even play the game past the second story mission. Any time frame on when this will be sorted?

It wouldn't be so bad if I could just stop the quest and carry on with other stuff but because its supposed to run into a dialog I can no longer fast travel to other locations or walk any faster than his pace.

Still having the same issue.. can’t proceed with the game on PS4.

On this mission it asks you to follow sigurd but when i do he stops and then just stands there nothing happens and it just stay like that until i have enough and get off. Also this game has been the most glitchiest game i have ever played, it barely lets me do anything as my interactions with the AI for missions or Mysteries dont work half the time..... PLEASE FIX YOURE GAME

quest. once you assassinate one dummy the rest do not register. very frustrating. ps4 pro.

I cannot progress any farther in the game. Sigurd does not talk during the walk to the dock, nor does the game allow me to move forward past this point. Any suggestions on what I should do, please.

Can't believe they had all these reports from day 1 and didn't fix it in the patch. What are they doing exactly? I'll tell what they are not doing...caring.....it really shows. I've been a loyal ubisoft customer for 5 years. I've purchased a lot of games...usually the ultimate edition...where is the care? Why release the game if it had game breakers in it? Ubisoft I PROMISE this will hurt your reputation in the future...but you probably don't care about the frustrated musings of 1 person...why would you? God, it really sucks when you lose faith in a developer that has provided you with so many years of happiness and escapism. Especially when you realize that you are a the type of customer they love the most...one full of hope and blind faith. Thanks for the wake up call Ubisoft.

@ubi-swaggins I have this issue on a PS4 Pro, so no drivers to load. I have been exploring the map and around Power level 9, but that should not mean that this dialogue simply fails to kick in. I have tried restarting the mission, deleting auto saves etc. I really dont want to lose 7 hrs of exploration time to start again - that is really rubbish. Please let us know when it is fixed, otherwise I cant go back to the game. It is broke.

I haven't been able to play the game for weeks since I hit this quest. No matter what action I take, whether it's resetting the mission or reloading a state this quest is unplayable.

I am having the same glitch on Xbox One. I'm able to finish the training with the blade, but then when I walk to the docks with Sigurd, nothing happens. I've tried reloading saves, deleting auto saves along the way, closing the game and reloading, nothing is working. Really frustrating.

@ubi-woofer what a BS response. Apparently hundreds of users are experiencing this issue. Pull your head out of your rear-end and patch this bug. If I performed my job like you do, then I would get fired. Hold yourself to a higher standard and fix this issue. Dirt bags.
