Hi, first of sorry for reposting this from another topic, but the post is far away in the discussion adn I guess most people wont read that far and I really want to hear more people opinion on this issue. So here it is:
I just killed a Zealot ... I took me like 10 freakin minutes on hard cause they are really tough, and what did I get?? Absolutelly nothing, just WHY? WHY would I waste time killing this guys if I dont get literally anything for killing them? This game is so [censored] up when it comes to rewards.
Zealots and Order - What do you actually get for killing them? Why bother? Why dont you get at leats like 2 armor set for killing all zealots and order members? Just jest get some stupid dialog yeah man thats what you want after you spend so much time killing the tough guy.
Roman Artefacts - Great oportunity to give us some Roman themed armor set, for returning the mask ... what we get instead?? Stupid statues which are absolutelly uselless .. again why??
Legendary Animals - Other totally tough and time consuming fights and what you get? Two or three weapons and thats all .. yeah at least here you get some weapons but why not some hunter themed set also ... why the hell I would rather get a stupid tattoo which I cant even see on my character for such a tough fight then a piece of armor?? Who though this was a good idea ?
Standing stones - [censored] is that ... you spend 5 minutes trying to get the stupid symbols in order and what you get ? 1 skill point ... Seriously ONE ????? ONE?? You get two for every level and there are like 300 of them so you basically level up every ten minutes ... this has absolutely no value as a reward what so ever ... why even bother doing this ??
Boss fights - this is like RPG 101 .. when you kill a boss you get a reward .. yet this is not the case in this game ... most of times you get absolutelly nothing for killing bosses ... why even bother with the fight ?? Just skip it and show me the cutscene and be done with it ...
Treasure maps - Instead of gear you get a ship design lol ... why who would rather get ship design instead of piece of gear???
Tattooes - We have dozens of tattooes designs to put on every part of our body, yet we dont have any armors with exposed chest or arms ... other absolutelly unlogical and stupid decision ...
Those are just a few examples where the game fails terribly in terms of rewarding the player for exploration and just playing the game. There is simply no motivation for doing anything in this game except for the strory. I watched a lot of gameplay vids before release and in one devs said there would be less gear then in Odyssey but more uniqe. So I thought ok, I dont have to trip over gear on every corner if there be less ger and harder to find I am ok with that. But I never thought that less gear mean almost NONE. I thought less mean like 30 armor sets nicely placed around the world as treasures and as rewards for playing the game and exploring. 10 armors of which most you just find in chests around the world is just not enough, it is a joke and a complete destruction of the game for those who likes the most basic RPG element there is.
Why would you want tattooes, hairstyles and settlement cosmetics as a reward for playing a game more then new gear? Who the hell thought this was a good idea? You cant even see your tattooes, you dont spend hours standing in your settlement looking at decorations, what you do is playing the game with your character and use and see his armor/gear. In the most importatn area where the variety and customization should be biggest there is close to none in this game.
Citation of one of the in game hints during loading screens "World of Assassins Creed Valhalla is massive and full of interesting items and opportunities. Take your time and explore the wilderness to find new locations and uniqe rewards" Ubisoft care to tell me where are all those interesting items and uniqe rewards? Because I explored a lot and failed to find any items at all ... after 25 hours of exploring I have two sets of armor and 11 weapons in my inventory ... This is a lot to you??? 10 armor sets is a lot to you??? Why are you lying to us ... exploring in this game is absolutelly pointless.
I know it is too late for Valhalla and its sad, because this game had so much potential in terms of exploration and all is wasted by poor decisions. But for the next AC please try to find some compromises, some middle ground between Odyssey and Valhalla ... yes we dont need to find new gear every five minutes .. but there must be a good variety of it, exploration must be rewarding, 10 armor sets is not even close to enough for such a massive game. I am so dissapointed because I was so hyped for this game, I coudlnt wait to explore all of the Viking era England, but now I just play the story and do very little of exploring, when there is no gear as a rewards I just dont have the motivation. I know that for a lot of people this is not an issue, but there is a reason why so many people loved Odyssey and its loot system, it is cause its rewarding and it makes you to keep playing the even after you completed the story and the side missions. And for all those you just take any enjoyment from playing the game beside the story.
I bought all Origins, Odyssey and Vallhala on day 1. With Origins and Odyssey I had a blast it with and never regretted that I bought the games for a full price. But with Valhalla I must say I regret it. For the next AC game I will definitely not buy on day 1 and I will be extra cautios to watch a lot of post launch gameplay videos to make sure there is enough variety and customization and that the exploring and playing the game is actually rewarding, because thats what I want and what I expect from an open world RPG. And I think I am not alone.
Thats is. So what do you guys think? Do you thinks this game is rewarding for playing or not? Do you like the loot/reward system or are you dissapointed with the very limited possibillities in terms of variety and customization? Do you have the motivation for doing the side activities or you just focus on the story because the exploration isnt rewarding at all? Share your opinions please.
Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@martygod12
I’ve got around 200 hours in Origins, and I’m at 1000+ with Odyssey. I played all other AC games except the first one: with varying levels of engagement.
Valhalla is among the least rewarding and the most boring. I don’t dislike it (as I dislike Black Flag). I just don’t care about it. I’m at around 12 hours in Valhalla, and I’ve really no desire to continue playing.
@martygod12 Unfortunately true. The loot in this game is worthless and the same goes for exploration as a whole. The content they put into exploration is just lazy and lack any type of satisfaction. It feels like doing boring chores. This game is a big step back to what made the previous two games good.
I like this new system and diversity of all activities you have like :
In Odyssey all we had was destroying war supplies and looting treasures and tombs, same with Origins with addition of those quest where you need to find right sign in the stars.
Also another simple but good thing is those doors.
Some of them need key to be unlocked , some of them are barred and you need to figure out how to open them from another side, some of the walls need to be destroyed by shooting heavy objects above , some needs to be blown out with oil jars . Point is its never too simple and you need to explore a little , use your brain to figure out how it works so all this is a little riddle and its rewarding when you finally figure it out.
I am really enjoying Valhalla which is now my favorite AC game of all time and in my top 3 games of all time .
@dj0rdje12 Yeah I am not saying that I dont like the diversity in side activities, definitelly a step forward over the other AC games. But the problem is that you get almost nothing for doing those side activites, for most of them there is almost none reward (or just XP and silver meh) and if you actually get something better it is just a tattoo or a settlement cosmetic. Things a dare to say most people doesnt even care about and even if they do they just put it somewhere in the settlement or your body and never look at them or use them ever again. The number of actuall worthwile and usefull rewards for exploring is close to zero in Valhalla and thats what people are complaining about. Even if the side activities are diverse and good they get tedious and boring very quickly because they are absolutely not rewarding in this game.
@dj0rdje12 There are only 10 armor sets in the game and most of them you just find by going to the dot on the map and loot chest. There are almost no armor or weapons in the game as rewards for questing and exploring, fighting etc. and that is not a good design in my opinion.

Dont know what to say honestly I do agree that there are too little weapons and armours in game and majority of them must be looted as wealth.
Agree that weapon reward is better than silver or ignot reward.
On the other side I like when my reward is skill point more than weapon actually , there are really great skills that can be unlocked ( yesterday I unlocked skill that allows me to have 2 handed weapons in just one hand which is extremely good )
Also I like ship design as rewards more than weapon .
I see your point here overall.
@dj0rdje12 Of course it is also a matter of preference. Me personally I take a piece of armor as a reward above everything else, but I can see that for you it could be ships design for other players something else. Problem is that in Odyssey you had all those to please everyone, here for those who likes a lot of variety and customization in armor(outfits) there are almost no possibilities.
And as for the XP and skill point I think it looses much sense in Valhalla considering how much power levels there is and that you basically can level up every ten minutes and you get two skill points for that. In Odyssey also it had a purpose a meaning you know, the tombs exploration for which you vere awarded with a skill point which were so much rare in Origins or Odyssey then in Valhalla, so in my opinion I think that in Valhalla a skill point as a reward has almost no value.
And XP is most basic reward for basically doing everything in a level based game, so for me that is just not enough as a reward for doing things.
And this is exactly the biggest problem in the game. There are so many time consuming side activites for which you dont get properly rewarded. I really dont find enjoyable spending 10 minutes killing boss or other tough opponent and then get nothing for it. Or trying to figure out how to get to some underground location only to find a chest with some leather and ore there. The game is forcing you to explore and put a lot of time into side activities but gives you almost nothing in return for your time spend.
Look I dont have that much playtime as I had when I was a kid, I have a job, a wife, family, friends and when I got 2-3 hours two or three days in a week to actually play the game I dont want to spend half the time figuring out how to get to some place or killing some bullet sponge foe for nothing. Or maybe I said that wrong I dont mind spending the time, but I need to be properly rewarding for spending it you know. Thats the issue with Valhalla it doesnt reward you for extra effort.
For me personally, I got too engrossed in playing dice.
Game is fine. Plenty of other games that hand out loot. Why do you have to point out a bunch of dumb reasons? I don't like people like you.
@etny2k Yeah well guess what I paid 60e for this game and I am dissapointed so I am allowed to critizise, because the lack of loot is absolutelly not justified since the game is supposed to be the same type of game as Origins and Odyssey, it is build on the same groundrules.
You dont like people like me well I dont like people like you, Defending every stupid decision what devs make, like everything they do is a pure gold.
@martygod12
I received the game for free through the AMD promotion, and I'm disappointed in it. Thankfully, I had cancelled my Xbox pre-order of the Ultimate Edition. I was pretty concerned about some of the things I was seeing leading up to release.
This game doesn't warrant a AAA price tag. It seems to still be very much an Alpha build. Ubisoft can do better.
@martygod12 - I can understand your frustrations with the exploration rewards you mentioned, but can you specify what you would do to change them? Like what rewards you feel would be better in those situations. I see you mentioned a few (Like the Roman armour), but the more details the better!
Can't guarantee it'll be changed, but it's something we can discuss and look into at the very least.
@ubi-swaguchi
A reason to explore and do all the extra content this game has..the existing rewards are so...
More armour and weapon sets please (at least another 10) scattered around the world and replacing some of the existing rewards, especially for those groups of enemies like legendary animals and you know Asgard? There's things to do there that could and should be replaced with a special Asgard armour and weapon set, that's such a special place, it should have a special reward. (5 skill points is a huge disappointment sorry)
One special request which I is selfish cause I know most people wont care, but if anyone could copy some of the existing softer hairstlyes for females in the game and put them onto recipes for me to buy because I really dont like the shaved styles that are only available now. My Eivor needs some love, a softer hairstyle for those girly moments when she visits her lover or attends feasts/weddings etc.
Better rewards for fishing/hunting tasks. (Preferably weapons/armours)
Id love random weapon/armour drops but that'd only work if we can dismantle and get materials via dismantling.
Transmogricfication
Some saxon armours look nice. Some nice leather gear thats a bit streamlined for my sneaky girl.
More cash shop armours and hairstyles, Ill buy them.
@ubi-swaguchi Well I have posted few suggestions on a different topic a while ago:
They could make 10 sets as a wealth treasure found in the world.
They could make like 5 sets as a quests rewards obtained throughout the game by doing story quests.
They could make one set as a reward for killing all zealots and one or two for killing all order members.
They could make one set as a reward for fully completing various side activities (roman artefacts, legendary animals, standting stones, codex pages etc.)
One set could be found by the treasure maps.
Two or three sets could be bought by various merchants in cities.
Now I dont know what you get for doing other side activites like Drengrs, Britain Treasures or Daughter of Lerion etc. but I assume that since most sets you get by looting wealth chests you wont get any armor from those activities either so maybe some here will be nice too.
Also the big problem is that all the armor sets look very simillar and lot of them are way out of place. There are almost no subtle looking, common, historically accurate armors you can wear and look like you are fitting the time period. Also most sets look very northman-like there are no anglo-saxon themed sets, which is ridiculous since majority of the game takes place in England. There are no leather, iron, chainmail armors like the enemy or friendly NPCs are wearing, there are a lot of great models yet none of them is obtainable by player.
Also better rewards for killing elite enemies, there is so much more of those in Valhalla than in Odyssey and they are tougher to beat, yet you get almost nothing for killing them. I often find myself just running around them to the wealth chest and then running around them away not figting them because I dont want to waste that much time killing them if they dont drop anything at least a little worthwile.
There are just some ideas I am sure that other players, who are also displeased by the Valhalla reward and loot system, will think of more.
Seriously it pains me because this game has such a big potential to be great yet I am seeing a festival of wasted opportunities at every corner so far
The hair is nice there too. Below a nice outfit for feasts/weddings etc or meeting important people.
@martygod12 I do think they strayed to far from what Odessey gave us. I do actually enjoy some exploration in valhalla as sometimes you score a new ability. Take away the desire for loot everywhere and it really is the same as all. Enjoy the journey not the loot.
