Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@darkstar_aut I am sorry to hear you are missing gear.
Did you perform any specific actions like swapping weapons in dual wield or using a torch prior to this happening?

no, not at all, i only were going to the quest-marker and accept to travel back to England. I only checked then in my viking camp if i can upgrade the nice gear, but all gone from Vinland, all in all 7 pieces...
I'm having the same behauvior.
After finishing the Vinland saga, I traveled back to England and none of the Vinland acquired gear is accessible in England/Norway.
Only the gear from Vinland is usable in Vinland, after finishing the saga, and clearing the map.
Is this intentional?
@ubi-swaggins
The Vinland Mechanic of losing your gear when you travel there, only to have to build it up, then when you travel back it's gone, really sucks.
It's a slap in the face to all the hours of character/gear building you spent before going to Vinland.
I would understand if at some point I could get my regular gear while in Vinland, but not immediately, but the fact it's gated the entire time makes me not want to even bother.
Sad to see such a cool concept be such a waste.
@flaicher
Yes, unfortunately.
Huge oversight.
After killing Gorm there is no reason the resources/gear from both Vinland and England/Norway shouldn't be shared.
This is ridiculous! Spent HOURS getting that entire outfit only to find out I can't keep it when the quest is done? this whole game is full of game breaking bugs that are a blatant slap in the face of any consumer that bought this crap. At least one mission on every alliance location fails to load a cutscene, forever falling bugs, Ships floating in air, Cows floating upside down, Flying lessons like superman for climbing wrong rock. Forgive my language here, but I paid $100 for this, and it's total [censored]. Highway [censored] robbery. I'm LIVID. And only getting madder the longer they go without patching this dumpster fire.
@renoxdashin
i have to agree with u, i also came across your mentioned bugs, but also have seen other "bugs" or unclean/not tested stuff like:
AND i also call it a BUG, that AGAIN after AC Odyseey theres not a single outfit which fits the female player....
and it looks suspicious that some NPCs looks like they ported over from SKYRIM...
IMO the game was released too early, it NEEDS polishment.... will it come?
Romancing: with clothes in bed? no female player boobs to see... but visible on 1 of the 3 Lorien Sisters!?!?.... why not the player....
what i also dislike that i killed 2 "high" targets and they dont have even a little quest, they sitting on a bench and wait to get killed.... and for this i needed to collect 15 clues, 5 kills, and then this disappointing outcome?
what u think,
well, i know for sure, i need to open a new thread.
@renoxdashin
yep thats true, for 100 bucks we can await a better polished game at least... I´m pretty sure that the "head developers" are already working on a new AC (or other) game and the not so qualified are the left overs to maaaybe patch stuff, but i think it will not happen - let´s see what the dlc´s brings us -
for me AC Odyssey was far better, and AC Bayek xD (Origins) was all in all with the dlc´s awesome.
the 2 other "worlds" we can visit, man, i thought what is this, the blue shrek´s ... xD i thought i´m in the wrong game... this isnt fitting at all for me. And i also dislike the structure of these worlds since Odyssey, in AC Origins the structure was ok, it was fitting, but not in this game or in Odyssey - they should have added new areas on the map or a crossover of 2 worlds on the battlefield...
Ubisoft at it again... making gear gated to certain areas... STOP THIS CRAP!!! AND LET US USE WHAT WE HAVE COLLECTED!!!!
Vinland had a very basic story arc, which is not in and of itself reward enough and yet we don't keep any of the gear. It felt largely pointless.
I just did the Vinland quest last evening. When I finished and traveled back to England all of my gear "looked " like I had it back ( visually it was on ) but the gear is all missing from inventory . Including the set I purchased from the store. My weapons are gone as well. Every game I've played has had something deleted by the game. Every save has become corrupted /lost to cloud . I spent 120.00 x 5 for a copy for myself and family members and every single one of us have bugs everywhere through-out the game. Extremely dis-satisfied.
@ubi-swaggins This just happened to me too.
I got all the gear in Vinland. All five pieces of the Native American armor set, a bow, a spear and a club. All very cool stuff that looked forward to using England.
Get back to England after all is said and done and I am back in the outfit from before I left. All the Vinland gear is gone from my inventory. I didn't even keep the freaking Legendary Moose trophy.
Very disappointing. Is this a bug or intentional? Very unsound decision if intentional.
@knightoftara NOT the gear from vinland I was speaking of.. ALL my OTHER gear.... the vinland gear is supposed to disappear ( dev planned stupidity )
same thing here , went back to england after completing vinland , all gear lost
Fairly sure everything for Vinland is intended, finding the Apple of Eden and leaving it in that region leads to future lore in some of the other games. Arriving to Vinland not being able to take your built up gear explains the need for collecting a region related set of gear. It is a shame that post-quest there is no carry over between zones having made Vinland safer but that would mean adding extra content rather than leaving the mechanic as if the player hadn't completed the Vinland saga. Some mechanics just have to be copped on the chin unfortunately, there's worse things than this in the game currently.
before u travel to vinland remove all gear u set in evoir after that talk to nessa travel to vinland finish quest and when u traveled back to england u will not miss any gear exapt vinland's gear
Busted buns to collect all the wealth (including the Legendary Moose) in Vinland only to have it all removed from my inventory upon completing that section of the game. That's a major kick in the shorts, Ubi. "I explored this fantastic new land and took care of Gorm while I was at it, but it turned out that it was just a dream. Well, except for the Gorm bit. Turns out he's dead. I think I'm the one that did it, but I couldn't prove it. Did Valka slip something into my mead when I wasn't looking? It all felt so real."
This is [censored], I get to Vinland, no gear. Tried to farm leathers. very hard to farm leathers from animals without a bow... Bears I get killed in a few hits. Totally Impossible to kill a bear and my power level is like being at zero (before entering vinland it was 278).
Ubisoft needs to change it give players the option of keeping gear or not...
