Hi there friends.

Playing Valhalla approx 12 hours game time so far,

Version 1.02
System PC windows 10
Stored on NVME samsung.

I am uncertain if I'm picking these up and I'm just not aware.
What seems to be occurring is when I save quit and come back later to continue playing, I seem to have a extra 1 of 2 different runes
Rune of life & and rune of rage.

I now have
4x rune of life (+14.9 health)
3x rune of rage (+3.2 attack)

I have a few other runes though they arnt doubled at all.

I'm not going to complain because I can sell them or stack equip them,
But at the same time I'd rather not be inflated by a glitch.

Has anyone else had similar?
I've seen no posts about rune dupes as of yet 12/11/20 5am AEST

@joseph2409 I have been getting the same glitch with the same two runes, and it does happen each time I relaunch the game.

Well since it's the same runes in the same scenario between multiple people that's going to make it much easier to diagnose and repair because obviously there is a direct coding error.

I think I'll just sell them each time to try attempt at keeping myself levelled properly.

It'll give me spare coin to lose on flighting

i got my Runes all at ones - even after dis- and reconnection and relaunching the game, no further runes so far, but i am still at chapter 2

(names may be wrong)

3x Runes of Life ->+14.9 Health
3x Runes of Shadow -> +1.5 Stealth Damage
3x Runes of Rage -> +3.2 Attack

Hey guys, thank you for reporting this! Does this happen every time you guys save/quit and return to the game?

It occurs about 9/10 times
Meaning occasionally a dupe does not occur.
In saying that.
I now have 9 runes of life even when I equip or sell all so that none sit in my inv.
I sti end up with another regardless
I have atleast 6 rules of rage

The rest seem unaffected so far.

A complete save. Quit Inc shut-down of pc (haven't really checked if shut down or no shut down of pc makes a difference)

I just did a save quit and start again of ACV and this time I did not get a dupe.

I got myself killed and reloaded latest save.
No dupe occured.

Dupes are definitely occurring but unsure as to what frequency

I think I know what is happening here.

3 runes are part of a pre order bonus. If those 3 runes are loaded into gear, when the game boots it checks to see if you have them in your inventory. If you don’t because they are equiped then it gives you a fresh 3.

If you do have 3 of them in your inventory, it won’t give you more as it knows you have them. Basically the check is not including equiped gear.

But I return with another additional rune in life and rage

How they appear when first looked at in a new save loaded.
1 appears as already seen recognised known to the player.
The other additional in my case now 9.
5 are in my inv.
1 appeared already known.
4 appeared brand new and unseen with the blue explanation mark above them.

I don't think it's a set 3 extra as I'm going above and beyond the quantity of 3

@joseph2409 they way they display the inventory in this game is a little strange. Let me explain a little better...

You start with 3 runes given to you.
Equip all 3 into gear.
When reloading, you now have 6 “new” runes in your inventory but really only 3 of them are new. The game is getting confused and marking the first 3 you equiped as new as well.

For each of those pre order runes that are equiped into gear, they will dupe in your inventory and upon reloading, ALL of them will show new. You can test this out by counting all of the types you have (Life, Shadow and Rage) Then equip or sell all 3, reload the game and count how many you have.

The other confusing thing is when you check the runes in your inventory, it shows what you have equiped and not equiped... sadly it doesn’t say which ones are in gear.

Well in this case. I don't have 9 I actually have 5..
Still seems a little odd though

@ubi-spud for me it happens everytime I load the cloud save on a different ps4
i alternate between work and home, so every time i swap consoles the runes get added.

Hello, I am on PC and am having this exact issue. I also have the pre-order pack/ultimate edition and believe that the runes affected are those that are from the bonus. As someone said, around 9/10 times on launching and loading your game, this dupe will happen and show you the extras being added in the pop-up display on the right (as when you pick up an item in the world)

Same issue here, Xbox. Every time I load up my save, I got a new Rune of Life. I have about a dozen now
