@yazx_ I did a rollback the other day to try and fix flickering shadows. With these older drivers the FPS is a lot more smooth and I was able to play a day with no freezing. Today I've had the game freeze 3 times within 30 min.

@crueltylizer which driver version you rolled back to??

Started happening to me after about 10 hours of play time; first time during a raid after playing for 2.5 hours straight; happened again on same raid within 3 minutes of loading that save. i7 7800X/1080Ti and 32GB RAM. First freeze occurred with a Division 2 update starting even though I had pause downloads when playing.

3 freezes in 30 minutes and then during a legendary animal fight Controller buttons decided to stop working. Ah well Cyberpunk tomorrow

I played for around 60 hours with no issues. Just within the past week, I have had a dozen issues with the game freezing. The sound still plays and I have to hard restart my pc. Any news from the devs?

hey all, im here to report back, 5 days in a row and no freezing, problem is caused by nvidia drivers.

roll back to 457.09 driver until nvidia fixes the problem, i've reported it to nvidia and i urge everyone to do so.

I need help. I have been trying to play Valhalla for the past week, but I have ran into a bug. So whenever I try to continue the game from the main menu, it loads and then just after the Animus loading screen, the game doesnt load, instead it shows me a black screen and the sounds of the shores. I am in Cent trying to rescue Sigurd(if that helps) .

problem is that i have a rtx 3070, and i don't have this driver option to download

updating 12/26/2020 interim fix that I got, I am able to play for hours without problems.

Well first I'm not having more freezing in the game, but now the game closes and I get that crash message, in the windows log I have reference to the error:

Well follow what I did to play for hours without freezing or errors.

1 open the game and play until it freezes or gives error.
2 have on your pc the manual drivers for your video card in case I am using version 460.79-desktop-win10-64bit-international-whql.
3 repair video drivers or reinstall drivers
4 restart the pc and open the game will run without problems, however as soon as you close the game or restart the pc the freezing problem comes back and you will have to do these steps again to work.

for some reason the game has corrupted a video driver file whenever you have the error, requiring you to reset the driver.

@bendelaboombr It doesn't breaks the drivers. I have currently installed Cyberpunk 2077 along with Valhalla. Valhalla froze/crashed a lot, same error as you but it doesn't break the drivers. I can play CBPK just fine. 110 hours played, 0 crashes and that game too uses DX12.

@redindianrobin funny that if i run valhalla and have the locking error, and immediately after opening cyber punk 2077 i have dx12 error. : X, so I have to restart the pc to play cyber without any problems, so I thought valhalla was corrupting the drivers

Hi my game has been working great over 70hours. But I'm trying to start the walls and shadow mission and I can't move my character at all it's happened about 3-4 times the menu button won't work either. Anyone able to help.

@mattyrd1 does it crash to desktop, freeze, full system freeze?!

It crashes into a save screen then comes back and I'm frozen have to quit to main menu and start over.
