@dutchderq
Already tried the page file increase size trick and still have it active, shouldn't need unless a massive memory leak exists. Still crashes / freezes with manually increased page file size.
@dutchderq did try this. yeah I did not experience a single crash yesterday. But now game crash again
DONT play with the page file, it has nothing to do with the problem, best thing and recommended from MS is to leave page file and virtual memory to auto managed, and if there is a memory leak, it would be obvious based on the amount of memory the game is using, mine total RAM (including windows and other stuff) usage is 10GB and 6 GB VRAM, so even with the memory leak, it wont affect anything, its something to do with the game, anyone tried offline as it might be something to do while playing online??
@yazx_ I tried to play offline and still freezes the game.
there are days i played for more than 2 hours up to 4 hours without freezing, but as soon as the game freezes over it will freeze every 10 seconds or 5 minutes impossible to play.
strange game works normal for 4 hours, and has days that freezes every 10 seconds of gameplay.
it's frustrating , after 5 min of play the game freezes
i cannot play for 10 min straight
ok i went to options and changed window mode to "Full Screen", not sure what flipped it to borderless as i always set this option to "Full Screen" in all games, anyhow, played yesterday and today and went to same places and had same fights, and fully completed Essex, no freezing whatsoever, STILL not sure if its caused by that, i will report back in couple of days to see if this was the cause.
Technically speaking, when THIS game freezes, it is not considered a Crash/Driver crash since music is still playing normally, this means the game loop is still running but the calculations and rendering threads have stopped, usually this technique is used to lower GPU and CPU usage when detecting the game is not on focus/minimized, could it be when set to borderless, something is stealing the focus of the game and the game thinks its minimized and stops the rendering?!
@yazx_
I have had the same freeze whether in borderless window or fullscreen, with and without windows optimizations enabled in game file, ubisoft+ version for me, properties. Borderless window mode at least freezes and doesn't fully crash the PC while fullscreen mode will fully crash the PC requiring a reboot maybe 1/3 of the time.

Check also Problem Reports, type in Windows search bar. The only error reports there will likely be for this game.
ok forget what i said, i've just hit a freeze while leaping of faith, so the facts are:
Also found reddit threads on this problem, same symptoms and all reporting after patch 1.0.4

The same to me, actually, Valhalla and Odyssey both, but Odyssey hasn't before, I don't know if I replaced the computer or bought a Odyssey new DLC.
I have the same issue. It now freezes during the cutscene entering England for the first time and I can't get past it no matter what I try. I haven't played it in weeks now. The patch actually made it worse. I posted my issue separately but have had no response.
This has been happening to me as well, and the one constant is that in Event Viewer I keep seeing this message: "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered." I don't know whether the game is causing issues with the Nvidia driver or whether it is the other way round.
If you have an nvidia graphics card, I recommend to do a driver update (457.51). Since I installed these drivers the game is still working as it should, so there is a chance that it helped. My computer: rtx 3070, ryzen 7 3700x and 16gb ram.
