I have killed 30+ deers by now, but apart from one antler in the beginning, the only thing dropping is leather and deer hooves. Note that I am hunting the male deer, not the doves without antlers. Maybe the patch broke the ongoing quest. I guess it is no loss as the questgiver is probably bugged as well. Has anyone been able to complete this quest? How was the droprate for you?

It's not deer you need to kill, but the reindeer. They look larger than deer with different horn shapes. I had best luck finding them around Valka's hut. Drop rate seems to be 100%.

You're kidding, I hope ? The drop rate is almost 0 %. One hour hunting reindeers, and 0 antler had drop, no one ! And seeing the subject on the net, I'm not the only one with this problem. It's ridiculous. I give up this stupid quest, it's unbelievable they not set the drop on 100 %.

After arriving in Fornburg and picking up the quest “A Mild Hunt,” none of the male reindeer drop antlers. I’ve been traveling around through the woods around Fornburg for hours and so far I’ve hunted and killed well over dozen or so reindeer (roughly 15 at this point) and not a single one has dropped antlers. They only drop leather and deer hooves. Online numerous other players have commented on how the quest is easy and how they found the three necessary antlers in no time at all. I don’t know if this is some kind of glitch effecting only a few players, but I no that I’m definitely doing what I’m supposed to and I know I’m hunting the right animal. The reindeer are very identifiable by their size and the size of their antlers. Please fix this issue!

I confirm that I was able to get the needed antlers by hunting deer spawning very close to Valka's hut, now I do not have anywhere to turn the quest in.

Ubi should seriously reconsider the design of this quest as I can hardly imagine it being designed worse that it is currently, particularly since it is probably the first side quest you will get in the game (the item is dropped by only very specific deer spawn near Valka's hut, questgiver is bugged) and it left quite a bad impression, specially for me a as completionist to just have to ignore it.

@titaniumacolyte I have the same issue, I have killed so many I cannot count and they never drop antlers.

I've killed 6 or 7 and got 5 reindeer antlers. They don't drop deer hooves. You may want to google the difference between deer/buck and reindeer.

The mission that makes you get 3 reindeer antlers is bugged. Once you get the antlers and return to the npc, she repeats her initial dialogue. You have to talk to her again, for her to complete the quest. Twice.

@vlad_the_poker I have killed plenty of "reindeer", and they mostly only drop leather. No deer hooves, but definitely hardly any antlers. I do have two antlers, so I know what the reindeer look like. They're only dropping about 20% of the time. Making this a mind blowing chore trying to get them to respawn only for four dead reindeer in an hour of play to drop zero antlers!

I killed the two Reindeer around Valka's hut, they didn't drop any antlers and the strange thing is, even after completely shutting down the game and my pc and restarting today, they still are dead (not vanished, visibly in game in the snow). Do they respawn on a timer (might be a spoiler ahead, sry, don't know how to mark it in text)

I managed to get them near Valka's hut. I would say they are a semi rare drop, but make sure you're targeting actual reindeer. (They look like they are two-toned and shaggy and massive.) I was targeting all bucks, and only the reindeer gave me antlers.

Pretty sure that the bug is, that if you killed the Legendary Elk before getting the quest, the antlers wont drop. Killed 50+ so far and zero antlers.

I am happy to inform you that it is not bugged after the elk boss. You can still do it. The drop percentage is just very low.

@athish0612 it is bugged, your getting deer hoofs off of them instead of the antlers if you kill the Legendary Elk before you get to the city the first time.

My savior !!!!! You're right, one reindeer near the Valka's Hut drops this ************* antler, the one at the right ! I searched and hunted in the Fornberg area and the one at the left of the hut, for nothing. I tried the one at the right and Bingo, an antler at the first try !!!!

my problem is that I have the antlers but since going to England I can't find the huntress that asked for them. Maybe once I build the Hunter's hut she will be there?

@lanssolo the only thing that quest gives you is 40 silver .. it's a waste of time, i spent literally 3-4 hours hunting reindeer getting the 3 antlers just for 40 silver and she gives you the location of the legendary elk, which is pretty easy to find anyway.

I was in the chapter 3, so the questgiver was still in the same place at Fornberg, in front of her house (near the blacksmith's shop). It was daytime. When I returned to the quest giver, she's bugged at first : the game played again the same dialogue that the ones at the first meeting with her. I talked to her a second time just after, and this time, it was the right new dialogues and end quest I had. The reward is ridiculous (no XP, just 40 silvers and the hint fort the legendary Elk) but.... it's soooo satisfying to conclude this "quest" and have the item disappering of the inventory !

It's so stupid.... I killed reindeers for 1 hour to nothing (but leather)... and thanks to Mamba369, in 10 minutes, with some fast travel to the other region and meditations to accelerate the spawning time, I has killed 4 reindeers, 3 of them gave me the quest item. Incredible !
