Same here many crashes at different times in the game. Randomly happens. Game ran smooth with 1.02. Never crashed once. Has to be a problem on the UBISOFT end. However, who knows if it will be fixed. Reminds me of Elder Scrolls Online. Every time they did a patch problems.

My wife and I are both playing with different save points (thanks for not providing profiles BTW) and just noticed that while mine crashes every 15-20 minutes now, hers does not. We're playing on two different machines and each plays on both. They exhibit the same behavior regardless of who's playing or which machine.

The throwaway response "it might be your machine" is nonsense and they know it. It's NEVER been the case for me in 30 years of gaming or anyone I know, but keep repeating that infuriating line of responses.
This leads me to believe it's the game profile causing the issue as I have bugs like Rena not talking to me after completing the 10 missions like so many others among other things.

I love paying $100 to be a beta tester. no information, no fixes, just keep you in the dark over fear that information might hurt sales. You know what else hurts sales? Me telling anyone that will listen about my issues and discouraging sales.

TALK to you customers. Fix and inform on issues.

Bought the game and downloaded today, Have had it downloaded and only been playing or trying to play for 8h but I have only got 5 hours of game time as I have had the game crash about 10-15 times. Right now it seems as if I try to raid the game crashes which is unfortunate as it is the next step in the main storyline. I have been around looting and fighting for about an hour now but I really wanna keep on progressing in the story. Decided to Verify the game files a second time today and started to download 13.76GB which hilariously now is at 16.56/13.76GB, took a screenshot of it but I dont think it should be posted in this thread.

it's probably due to the memory leak that was occurring with environment textures.

I have been Playing Assassins Creed Valhalla for 3 nights a week for 3 weeks now & today after almost 49 Hours clocked in Game Crashes, First crash i have had with this game, point is when i loaded the game up all my save files say corrupted save, corrupted save. in over 20 years of gaming i have never come across this happening on any other game, if i cant fix this buggy mess of a game save file, i wont be buying another month of ubisoft+ to play all the same missions over again. why do all ubisoft games run so terribly, i bet you cyberpunk 2077 will put you to shame, the amount of bugs i have encountered in Valhalla i have never seen before in any open world game i though kingdom come deliverance was bad but guess what? ubisoft wins the award. on top of that have you seen the state of watchdogs legion i can play at  640x480 on the lowest setting & set all settings to its lowest & still i cant get 60fps, The game at that setting looks like a Playstation 2 game & still my 1080TI cannot run it. Ubisoft your a joke.

This seems to be a massive issue on PC. I'm currently 113 hours of play into the game and it's become ridiculously unplayable because of the constant freezes. I've had four them today alone in five hours of playtime. One of the previous posts on this freeze had tons of replies from different people saying they have the same issue. One person said Reddit had hundreds of reports of this exact problem. A few people have suggested rolling back the GeForce game ready drivers to version 442.59. I'm currently working on that. A YouTube video suggested changing the RAM paging file size but that didn't work for me.

I'm not a stranger to the AC franchise or Ubisoft games in general so when I started Valhalla I also started keeping a log of all the glitches, crashes, and freezes that I've experienced. The glitches range from just odd graphics or sound issues to collectable items (opals) that are not interactive (can't collect the collectable item). One of the most notable annoying glitches is when switching back to controller from mouse and keyboard. There is a very distinct stutter in both sound and gameplay. Every. Single. Time.

Here's a tally of the issues I've come across.

    General glitches: 19
    Hard crashes: 5
    Freezes: 8

    AMD Ryzen 9 3950X
    64GB RAM
    RTX 2080 Super
    GeForce Game Ready Driver 457.30
1TB M.2 SSD as game install drive
    AC Valhalla version 1.0.4

Odyssey was the same way, I swear every other update like clockwork would break the game and I'd have to start downgrading my Nvidia drivers until I found one that was stable .... Cripes when I got the GTX 1660 TI when it came out a week or two later an update broke it and I had to hack a set of older drivers (Basically whitelist the GTX 1660 Ti so they would install) to get it to work, something I hadn't had to do since Nvidia came out with unified drivers (one size fits all) circa 2006 or 2004 ...... Then I upgraded to a RX 5700 flashed it with an XT BIOS and that worked good for about a month until I got to the Fate of Atlantis DLC and you couldn't even start it and it took almost 3 months for them to fix that bug .....

Still Valhalla is way worse than Odyssey even at Odyssey's worst ..... THE BOWS DON'T EVEN HAVE AIM LOCK FOR CRIPES SAKES ..... And they don't even seem to care about it or even acknowledge it's a HUGE problem for a large part of their player base that played Origins and Odyssey as archers/hunter/ or whatever the hell they decided to call it this time ..... Then on top of that switching bows has to be one of the most poorly designed basic features in any game in at least a decade ..... It's just horribly clunky ..... Origin let you access 2 bows, Odyssey got really smart and just like you change bow abilities with a single button press ..... Valhalla is like they added bows just to say they were in the game

@longjohn119 I agree with you on some of the points however Odyssey was far more stable than Valhalla in my case. In the 160 hours I played, I had like 3-4 crashes at most. With Valhalla it's a crashfest until I downgraded drivers to 9 months old.

True, I feel like I should explain why I come off as super [censored] in this thread. I've been over this like 5 times since launch. Game crashes, I get told the same things to try to "make sure it's not a problem on my end", game still crashes because the game is just bad at this point. When the game keeps crashing and nobody seems to have anything of worth to say, it gets annoying. This doesn't even seem to be a PC problem, I've heard of the console versions crashing quite a bit. At what point does the developer accept the blame and actually talk to their paying customers? If they want to charge premium price for their product, I expect something to justify it.

Not constant crashing in a mediocre game asking for a premium price.

@n00l3ilici0us funnily enough, i recently upgraded my ram with an additional 32gb (higher speed, looser timings than my existing 16gb). XMP settings fail to even POST but i figured I'm running 2 very different paired modules. manually set the speed/timings to the slower values and went with 1.35v as per XMP/rated settings and it'd be unstable. I've had to bump up to 1.36v and i've not had a crash since. weird that no other game was having issues and shorter runs of memtest proved reliable at 1.35v. valhalla not so.

Of course this could be intermittent as i do use ubisoft+ which appears it's a known issue based on this thread, but i've not had a crash since raising ram voltages.

    i5-8600k, 48gb ram, nv3090 & 457.30 driver, latest 20H2 win10.

Ram is sold in sets of 2 and 4 and and they all are the same size ..... When you mix ram sticks that are a different size, different timings or a different manufacturer you are just asking from problems .... If you want 4 sticks of ram you buy them as a set .... if you upgrade from 2 to 4 you remove the old and replace them with matched set of 4 .... Even if they are the same brand, size and timings if you buy them several months apart there is a good chance they aren't using the same ram IC's ......

I've been building systems on the x86 platform since 1987 and even worked for Gateway Computers when it was still a family owned business in western Iowa

I'm getting crash errors on PS4.

Please patch this. It was happening before the 1.04 and still occurs after the patch.

@samsongg Yea, I know it can be frustrating. Let's hope they'll fix the game sooner than later. Or even better. Let's hope they'll finally learn to release games in a finished state instead of beta state. They will ultimately lose customers this way.

@peewee051 Thank you for reporting this to us, we're sorry to hear that's been occurring.

What platform are you playing the game on? Do you get any error messages when the game crashes?

    Same issue for me

The sound continues but the image is frozen

It's really frustrating not being able to enjoy the game anymore ...

    What I tried :

    • Disabled overlay
    • Run the game in admin mode
    • reinstall UpIay
    • reinstal ACV
    • reinstall of GPU drivers with DDU
    • removed OC
    • format of windows

After I formatted my pc and was able to play for several hours without a problem but it happened again at some point.

    here is my config

    9900k RTX 3090
    32 GB of DDR4 memory. trident Z 3466
    Seasonic Prime Ultra 1000

A solution for this? Is it a problem with the game or with my pc?
