I just picked game up today. I have played them all. They have done a few decent ones but my favorite was AC Odyssey.
But So far Valhalla sucks. They completely changed game play & button configuration. Why? Its ridiculous.
In Odyssey the character could run & jump on horse, not any more. Seriously. Changed the way eagle vision works again. Can't find crap on map even with the Raven now. Its horrible. Thinking about returning it for my money back.
Plus they have these little glowing dots. What the heck are those? You can't find them when you get near them. Try to use the raven or Odins vision & nothing. Tagging goals doesn't work like it should for direction.
Fighting isn't bad. But since when does adernaline/stamina deplete for dodging? Graphics aint bad. This game is just horrible so far.
Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@chevy_man2010 I feel the same and am very disappointed. I was hoping for something to equal Odyssey at least but Valiha seems to have taken everything good about Odyssey and binned it. The glowing dots are things of wealth/books of power. Funny thing is the game doesn't let you access some of them, it doesn't like you exploring. Your right though a lot of them are very hard to find because the direction icon is so flaky. The combat is one of the worst I have seen in a AC game, both terrible and boring.
I don't know how you go about getting a refund from UBIsoft, I have never had call to ask for one in the past but I think I will with this one, I can't see me wanting to play this anymore.
I wanted to finish Origins before I played Valhalla, but I started it just to see how it was & have just made it to England.
But, the glowing dots seem to represent treasures, or lootables, not locations. Locations just decide to exist when you get close. The dots don't register as anything else when you get close, but the gold ones led me to treasures.
The Raven also annoyed me a bit, but if you enter the area & hold down R3, you get a classic AC Eagle Vision thing & register every enemy, ally & item in the immediate area. The way the Raven works, though, I'm really not sure why they even bothered putting it in the game. It's entirely pointless.
I'm enjoying the story so far, though.
EDIT: Anyone know how to do spoiler tags, now?

Yeah, I agree, the bird is completely pointless in this game. In Origins and Odyssey it was essential.
Btw, you can get a skill fairly early on which reveals enemies nearby as long as you crouch. This way, you don't have to use Odin's sight all the time to see them. Still, you'll have to use the sight to easier keep track on treasures and such when near them.
I agree completely. The raven is useless, it does not tag enemies, treasures, nothing, and you can't see anything using it. The most fun I had with the 2 previous games was tagging all enemies in a fort and silently taking them out. Can't do this now.
The map is also useless, you can't see locations you've gone to or not, icons are barely visible and when you get there, there's nothing. No way to see where there's a village.
Odin sight is a joke, if there's something near it makes a barely audible sound but the highlight is so faint that I can't see what it has "identified".
When you talk to someone, sometimes they ask you for something (like bring me 3 antlers, or find my comb), but these are not added to the quest list and no direction is given about where to go to do them.
On my XBox One, the aim assist does not work, Tried every "level" and it does nothing, no clipping, no following, nothing.
So far, this is a massive disappointment. I've been waiting for this game since the beginning of this stupid pandemic and now I don't even have any fun playing it.
@marcusanthony25
I figured that much out but its [censored]. I liked it better as the triangle explanation point or a question mark from Odyssey.
Also at least when you tagged something in Odyssey it took you straight to it, marker didn't vanish then you spend 20 min. hunting for an item.

"They completely changed game play & button configuration. Why? Its ridiculous." I agree it's a drastic change but I got used to it.
"In Odyssey the character could run & jump on horse, not any more. " Actually, you can call and mount your horse/elk at the same time by holding down the left arrow. As the animal gets beside you, you will quickly mount him and continue on. I haven't found this documented but I've been doing it for a couple of months now.
"Changed the way eagle vision works again. Can't find crap on map even with the Raven now." Yes it is a huge letdown from Senu in Origins
