Locked Does the Pre-Order Issue link with the New way Ubisoft Distributes games?

I remember reading an article that was talking about UBi's attemps to combat key resellers by using an automatic activation mode. This would prevent the old way of purchasing and immediately having the key if need be to manually activate a game. This was only said to be used moving forward. As another player 10yr Uplay person, with this widespread issue, i'm just very confused at this being the first time in 10yrs using this client and purchasing titles direct from UBi, that this is an issue right now. I'm an OG on Uplay, this shouldn't be an issue right now.

As this is an old thread I have locked it. With regards to your query, we no longer provide activation keys for digital purchases, the games are automatically added to your account through direct entitlement. You would only receive an activation key with physical editions of games. If you pre order a game, the game is added to your games library automatically and will become available on the release date.Official Response
