Hi Ubisoft.
About the graphics of the game (PC-version), I have a 2070 RTX, Latest Nvidia Drivers. But even when i set the game on "Ultra-High" it feels like its still set on "Medium" or "Low" Quality preset, the landscape, low polygon rocks and texture quality doesn't look so good compared to the older AC Games like Origins and Oddysey, even on the mountain rocks you can see the textures stretched out on it. The characters however look more decent.
Maybe it's a bug, but i'm not sure.
I hope this is going to be improved in the future patches of the game. Because it's subpar.
Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

Could you share a screenshot please?
I have an RTX 2080 and no issues with graphics quality. Quiet honestly, overall, this is the most beautiful game I have seen so far. (and yes, I did play RDR2 on PC)
@gcc1984 It's specifically when you climb actual high mountains, like the rocks up there etc. Not so much in the villages or at sea.
I'll provide some screenshots later.
@trackah123 So only rocks/mountains are affected? It read like you set everything to Ultra but it remains on low/medium quality. Does your game looks like in the screenshots I shared?
(by the way, there is an option that controls quality automatically during gameplay, it should be turned off)
@gcc1984 Adaptive quality i have turned off, i'm also running the game from SSD.
Yes the screenshots you shared looks same as mine, that looked fine. but for example when you reach a synchronisation point (eagle icon on map) , that's located high up in a mountain, that's where i noticed the reduced quality.
@trackah123 I think in most games rock formations look the worst in comparison to the rest of the game and I agree here too that they are on the lower side of texture quality compared to the rest of the game but for me it is not breaking the overall good graphical impression.
If you look at e.g. RDR2, you got the exact same problems.
I wonder if the quality of rocks improve in England though.
@trackah123 Try turning off Depth of Field ..... I noticed that in Odyssey it would blur far away NPCs and made them a lot harder to target with a bow ..... Turning it off may gain you a couple of FPS too .... Personally I never liked the effect because it's not realistic, what it does is simulate what it would look through a camera lens .... It never made a lot of sense to me to spend $500 on a graphics card for crisp high resolution graphics and then intentionally blur everything and lose some FPS to boot ....Motion Blur is another waste of FPS IMO
@gcc1984 Here you can see some rocks in the mountains, you can really see the low polygon geometry lines and in some cases stretched out textures on edges.
I also remembered that the older AC games had tesselation techniques.
@trackah123
I completely agree. Not only the textures are bad, but the mountain rock shapes themselves. Incredibly unnatural with obvious square/pointy edges that look straight from an old zelda game. Also the rock textures are completely flat, like they tried to bake in some roughness/bumps but they're just flat and glossy. it really breaks the immersion.
anyone else feeling this way or noticing this?
There aren't even wet shaders for when it is raining. Only the character has them.
I have not seen this happen since Unity.
@trackah123
here's an example of what I was talking about. the rock shapes are very unrealistic. many strange angles and pointy tips. plus flat textures. its really bad, and much worse than other peer games
(all max texture settings)
