Locked Solved [RESOLVED] Unable to select Eivor's gender at character selection screen | POST HERE

I can't choose a character between FEMALE Eivor, MALE Eivor, or ANIMUS choose. I've tried checking my mouse and have tried using a joy stick. But still can't choose.

The development team has been made aware of this issue and this has been marked as resolved in Title Update 1.04.
If you still encounter this issue in-game, we would recommend applying the following workaround:
Go to Options -> Interface -> Set Hold Alternative option to OFF
You should be able to select which gender you would like to play as now.
Please don't hesitate to update this thread if you have any further questions or concerns

I’m playing on Xbox. I’m stuck on the gender select screen, I try and hold the A button or tap it or anything on a selection but it won’t let me past the screen. I don’t know what to do from here I’ve been stuck here for 2 hours, restarting my console and starting new games.

Sorry to hear you have experienced this, if possible could you confirm whether you are experiencing any other issues with input options in game.? Also, if possible would you be able to capture a short video clip showing this selection not completing when holding the button in game.? Lastly, if possible could I suggest attempting a different game pad to rule out this being a factor causing this issue.

Same problem on the PC, I confirmed that left click does indeed work inside AC:V, now trying with a Controller. Will edit post if it works.
Edit: Does not work with controller either, I can even see the game registering my clicks with the controller but they appear to do nothing. Will upload a clip soon -

I’ve tried a different controller, I’ve tried a friends Xbox who is currently playing it on his profile, then he switched to mine and was stuck on the same screen. I’ve watched this fight scene dozens of times haha hopefully you can help me because I’ve been waiting a long time to play this. Also I don’t have privileges to post a video -

My friend is using a controller and his worked, then he logged into my profile on his Xbox and on my profile it didn’t work. So worked on his profile but not mine on the same console -
@ubi-litten I haven't noticed any other problem so far. Tried a different controller but same thing. It's possible to move the cursor around and it "reacts" when i press X but nothing hapeens.

Footage of the problem. Tried with both a Controller and a Mouse and Keyboard. You can see visibly while using the Controller that the game is registering the clicks, but allas, nothing.

@simplysha ive now also tried unplugging my controller so its only 1 input, and playing in windowed instead of fullscreen. No go.

@naldop im on my 5th on PC. Can't skip cutscenes so this is taking forever, and ubisoft stopped replying

Don't know if it helps anyone else, but I was having the same issue on pc, with the input not actually working. I fixed it by changing my "Menu Hold Factor" back to it's default 1000ms and in the Interface menu the "Hold Alternative" back to OFF. That allowed me to use both mouse and controller inputs again.

Hey guys I fixed it on PC!!!!!
For me heres what I did:
Play windowed, and go to OPTIONS -> INTERFACE -> GENERAL TAB -> and set "Hold Alternative" to "Off"
I also un plugged my controller, no clue if that had an effect
