@Ubi-WheelyDuck I have the same problem too, same error code before "update required" warning on main menu and I don't see any "update available" mark on both steam w/ uplay for my rainbow six siege.
I tried:
Changing connections
Changing my server to westeurope from default
Running BE as administrator
Running the game as administrator
Verifying integrity of game files
Restarting PC
Youtube tutorials
and now I'm checking forums -
