

Solar Raid has been an amazing Seasonal addition to Siege already. Solace is balanced and Nighthaven Labs is a great Map. There are some main concerns though that everyone on PC, including Console players, have been complaining about though. (1.) Placement Matches will probably need added back by Year 8 Season 1 because players are already realizing how long grinding is actually going to take. Currently in Y7S4 it takes 38 Matches without losing to achieve Emerald Rank status which would arguably be considered a Challenger League type of Rank next to Platinum, while Diamond and Champion would be considered top Pro League Team/Player gameplay. Players around Platinum to Diamond, which are the Ranks players start taking Siege seriously, are reporting the grind time is too much. Players will not have enough time to even enjoy all the other Modes/Content that is a part of Siege if they are spending it in Ranked, because lets face the truth players will not be winning 38 games straight. An estimated Emerald win rate will probably be around 63% avg which leaves enough room for adding in loses which will be around 12 to 20 extra Matches on top of 38 from Copper to Emerald. Most players at that skill range are only playing about 50 Matches max per Season then playing other Modes. Ranked is a fun competitive mode, but players usually tend to move towards the other Modes after hitting a preferred Rank. Rainbow Six Siege is primarily played for the experience it offers, not just for its Ranked Mode. Ubisoft should focus more on allowing its player base overall to enjoy everything Siege has to offer including QM, TDM, T-Hunt, UnRanked, and the permanent Arcade Mode that will be added in the future. In total, including Ranked, Siege would offer 6 Modes. (2.) Ranked needs updated by Y8S1 to read your last 6 Seasonal Placement Ranks to be your avg MMR total. Ranked has changed dramatically since Secure The Area & Hostage were removed from Ranked which adds a differentvalue to your MMR value that is currently meshed with Bomb Game Mode statistics. Let's find out what each players avg MMR for Bomb is by updating to an avg MMR value for Y8S1. Another change that could add pleasantry to UnRanked is by adding the same way we matchmake in Ranked to be applied to UnRanked based on Y8S1 changes, not by UnRanked functioning like QM. UnRanked is supposed to be Competitive but also fair. Currently in Y7S4 I as a Gold player can vs Diamond & Champion players, this is unfair and when I'm practicing to vs Gold/Plat players I need to be ready for their playstyles not out of my skill range. QM should be the Mode where anything can happen and you can vs anyone along with TDM & Arcade Mode.

@TupacsBoy agreed on Ranked 2.0 - all they've done is hidden the old rank/MMR system that people complained about rather than fixing it.
The game is still in a pretty terrible state and so I'm not going to play a lot which means I'm going to finish the season with Copper rank.
I remember the satisfaction of getting the whole squad online for your placement games and seeing where everyone landed - everyone starting at the bottom of copper is super boring.
Ranked is still terrible at actually putting 10 people together who will have a close, competitive game, and without that what's the point?
R6 Tracker's overlay gave me a 1% chance of winning the past 4 games, and surprise surprise, my team got steamrolled all 4 times and they were all zero fun.
I don't think it's even smurfing/deranking any more - their match making is just absolutely terrible, although there very often seems to be one player in the lobby who goes 10-1 and changes the entire game for everyone. As you say I don't think they balance the averages of each squad well at all.
No wonder the game is dying - I'll try again when they update ranked 2.0. For now it's same old but without the satisfaction of being able to reach a new rank without 100 hours of grinding per season. So disappointing.

It's funny that this is the exact opposite of what I experienced.
I play mostly quick match and my main impression of Labs is that people hate it and regularly quit matches when the map comes up (same as Studio Bravo and a lot less but still similar for Emerald Plains). It also is extremely defender sided for most spots, unless the whole team decides to go roaming.
For Solis, I'd disagree that she is balanced. She's mostly used as a roamer and equipped with a P90, the LMG-lite, otherwise only equippable for 1-speed units (afaik), or the ITA which is one of the stronger semi-auto shotguns which only Mira on the def side had (before her). Though most people probably won't play her with shotgun, she's also equipped with the strongest side arm in the game, the SMG-11...
This equipment is coupled with basically a mix of IQ's and Pulse's abilities. Which can be useful for tracking enemy positions.
Sure, she has "only" 2 speed but that's still plenty and compensated with an hp boost.
For the ranked system, I 100% agree with you though. I have no idea why they decided to change it but it was one of their worse ideas lately. Keeping similar mmr from the previous season and placement games helps putting people in their skill range asap which also has the added advantage of making the ranked system more approachable for new and/or low skill players.

I know how to make balanced changes for R6.
As for Solis though, you mentioned smg-11 being OP, I say take the smg-11 away then.
Instead Solis should just get a pistol as a secondary, maybe a French pistol.
Lots more changes need made though, like Jackal needs his gadget nerfed.
It's redundant and stale the Ban of ATK always being him but it also makes sense because he's OP
not annoying like the Community tries to insinuate.
It's probably too early for an Oryx change but I believe we need it in the future. Ubi is playing it too safe sometimes.
Oryx has a powerful energy, like a monster with finesse. He should get 1.5 Scope taken away and in turn get a special perk no one else gets where he can pick up C4 off the ground from a teammate that is alive or dead.
Oryx would be able to have 2x C4 at a time if a teammate gives it to him or if he picks one up off a dead body.
It's lightly touched on in his bio that he's an ex-terrorist who now works for the good of mankind.
As an ex-terrorist he's been around a lot of tools of warfare and destruction. I would assume he'd be a explosives expert. Now let's not jump to conclusions and say "oh this is cultural misappropriation!" because even if Oryx looked like Valkyrie or Mute I'd say the same thing, so let's not be juvenile.
@TupacsBoy IMO Solis also needs a lower cap smg and maybe a different shotgun choice but like I said, her shotgun probably won't see much deployment anyways.
Her current equip looks like a 1 speed on-spot defender but with her ability and 2 speed, she's more likely to be played as a roamer.
