Hello, just started playing AC: Origins for the first time on my computer and it's been running smoothly for the most part, except whenever I try to dive in the water. This is happening in Siwa, for a quest for Rabiah that wants me to dive in search of medicine boxes. The moment I dive, the game crashes. I bought the game through steam, and I've checked for file integrity but the issue remains.
Does anyone have similar issues or any insight about this? Every help is welcome, thanks in advance

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@RheyaThorne I had the same problem. I just downloaded Nvidia driver 461.92 and now it runs perfectly, albeit a little less crisp graphically.

@RheyaThorne I've had countless crashes since I installed this game, I didnt play it before patch 1.6 so idk how it was but from what I've read it was stable.

the crashes I encountered were in random places and specifically during cutscense, when scanning water, desert or a city, when diving into water, almost any rendering causes a crash.

I tried everything from closing running apps in the background to stopping all services and disabling overlays from all programs, tried running the game with different settings aswell, NOTHING worked.

    my PC setup:

    CPU: Intel i5 9600k (overclocked)
    GPU: Nvidia RTX 3090
    RAM: 32GB 3600 C16 (XMP ON)
    OS: Windows 10 pro
Nvidia driver version: 531.29 (latest driver) <=== the reason behind all the crashing

    HOW I FIXED IT:

    1. uninstall your current Nvidia driver by using a program called Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU), DDU download link: https://www.wagnardsoft.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4387:: (https://wagnardsoft.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4387:) (https://wagnardsoft.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4387): (https://wagnardsoft.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4387)) - install this program and dont change any settings, just choose which driver you're uninstalling (GPU) in this case and click first option (clean and restart)
    2. after windows restarts you download Nvidia Driver version (528.49 - WHQL) - Nvidia driver download link: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/results/199655/ (this step will remove your Geforce experience program but it will reinstall it, if it didnt reinstall just click on the driver you downloaded again and it will install Geforce experience)
    3. after finishing step 1 and 2 make sure to go to Nvidia experience then go to driver and check the current driver installed is 528.48 (DO NOT UPDATE IT)
    4. in Nvidia control panel, make sure Antialiasing - FXAA is turned off (didnt test it with it turned on, but I read that it causes issues, so it was off all along)

and thats it, thats literally all I did, it didnt matter what I had opened in the background, I restored everything back to normal and the game stopped crashing completely.

I hope this helps, happy gaming everyone!.

@Welstead89 You are the goat man

Did what you described here and it works !
I was crashing when going underwater and seems like it was because of nvidia's latest driver... updates are supposed to improve things right ????
I can now enjoy the game, thanks a lot 🙂
