Just finished Valhalla and I am quite moved. 300 hours seems like 300 years, so attached to the game I have become. I have said that before with some humour that I used to think that Vikings were bloodthirsty savages with no culture, but I have come to realise that Vikings were bloodthirsty savages with culture! But that doesn't wash anymore, it is far deeper than that. Though Odyssey was good, I think Valhalla was on another level. For all the [censored] about Valhalla on youtube, I think they miss the point. It was really about a Journey, one massive, long, hard, scary, funny, lovely journey, wrapped up so succinctly and it was sad when it ended, but it hasn't really. A real Heroes/Heroines journey.
I like Eivor will go on, probably will not play another game like this again from beginning to end, for so long. But I will remember Valhalla and Eivor, maybe go visits some sites, even maybe get a tattoo to remember my days as a Viking.
Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@Mortedartius
thanks - overall this has been an impressive game, I quite agree
as for visiting sites, they've paid attention to detail fairly well; the colours of England are done well, the various sites and aspects of history, too . . . and in Winchester Ubisoft have contributed to a visitor centre

I think I'll drive down there at some point soon but many others that pop up are worth a look
Overall, the experience was mostly good but it was still below Origins or Odyssey level with occassional frustrations like absurd Mastery Challenges or discovering that gear/runes don't really give as much advantage as I would like to as opposed to Gear Score.
I'll keep playing, I still have to finish converting all weapons to Divine quality as I've already done all armour pieces. Occasional daily/weekly Ubisoft challenge can be fun too. Definitely not going to farm leather/metal to upgrade all to max though.
I'm going to keep the game on my PC for some time, probably until Mirage comes out or I finish all my gear goals.
Yeah. Main issue with the game is, you should draw a line at some point and accept it as finished.
Doing daily fetch quests for opals to buy useless gear burned me out for it.
Just having a (even little) quest at the end and sailing to the quest marker made me remember how good the game used to be actually.
I think I'll put it aside for a year or so and then start a New Game Minus and replay the story and some side quests. But I won't do all the grind again. Probably finish it in Raven Clan armor.
