I noticed that the ballistas in the defenses along the the river and in Fortifications, Outposts, Camps and Fortresses in River Raids (this pertains to all River Raid maps) do not reset after ending a raid from a previous raid:
Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

Hi @dominantboy @azullFR @SpirantCrayon22 thanks for the information provided, I have forwarded it on to the development team.
@dominantboy
I suspect that this is an intended game behaviour,
@azullFR It’s a possibility. Yeah it is nice to be able to dominate more easily but I still find it odd because since they stay this way, you are unable to use them to your advantage when killing enemy NPCs.
there are a couple of things where the state of an item is permanent
exploding carts including those that spawn in the Reda daily
any of those ballistas anywhere including, as implied, those that spawn on the higher River Raid alert level
curiously, I got the impression that a couple of breakable walls had respawned somewhere and am pretty sure that a few previously-unbarred doors had got their bars back
@dominantboy @azullFR @SpirantCrayon22 Hi !
I've taken note of your messages as well as your questions regarding the reset of ballistas, and I wanted to thank you for sharing your insights in this thread !
The question about the state of the ballistas has been forwarded to the Team, and we'll let you know as soon as more information is available.
In the meantime, if you have questions on other topics, or if you'd like to report an Issue, don't hesitate to let us know !
@dominantboy You're welcome !
If you have other Issues that you'd like to report, or if you need help with anything else, don't hesitate to reach out once again !
Hi @dominantboy the development team have asked the following:
@Ubi-Keo Not my post but I can comment. In the same way that exploding carts can only ever be blown up once, all ballistas in every map can only ever be broken once - just like bars on doors can only be broken once. The ballistas spawn in again in river raids if the alert level's high at the beginning - but they spawn in broken, like the exploding carts do in Reda's dailies.
@Ubi-Keo
I confirm what @SpirantCrayon22 said and also what @dominantboy said.
As any single who played AC Valhalla and that has destroyed at least one balista :
this happens in all River maps (as already said by @dominantboy ) and all rivers.
Unless reloading as save from before destroying a balista or restarting the game from scratch :
Any single balista destroyed once will keep its destroyed state whatever action you perform in the game in any river, any River Map, any region, any DLC, any etc. ...
Any single balista that have not been destroyed once will keep its "non-destroyed" state whatever action you perform in the game in any river, any River Map, any region, any DLC, any etc. ... until you destroy it.
This behaviour is the exact same one as when River Raids were introduced in the game (TU 1.1.2 February 16, 2022) and this behaviour never changed.
(sometime I'm wondering if the game team ever played Valhalla once ... a game is not only lines of code ... it's how these lines "behave" in-game on a non "Ubisoft tweaked IT environement" = on real consumers systems such as Xbox and PS which can still be acquired on second hand market if the Ubisoft company couldn't afford them for their "testings"
...they still should send some to the outsourced game teams)
Here further proof:
These are all from River Exe, but the defenses.
I don’t know why but on the website under photo mode while viewing the photos, the locations some of these are grouped in are wrong. These three right here showed they were taken in River Severn. That’s not right.
@dominantboy
about the pictures wrongly grouped in River raids :
River Raids are a kind of "World apart" : the coordinates (x,y,z) used in them are not accurate,
if I'm correct, at a moment some quests in River Raid were even showing an objective at an unaccessible place (behind the kind of wall of glass that delimits the usable space)
Oops ! I'm not sure to understand :
you destroyed only one balister and they are all down now ?
or
you destroyed them only once and they are now keeping the "down state" ? : which is the usual game behaviour
@azullFR No. I’m showing more that I have destroyed from a previous River Raid. This is literally like the 20th time I’ve seen them in this state.
Hi @dominantboy @azullFR @SpirantCrayon22 thanks for the information provided, I have forwarded it on to the development team.
