Just a quick question. Is there a cap on how high the Mastery Levels can go?
I ask this as I've now reached 803 for all 3 Mastery Levels on the Sill Tree. In short, I'd like to know if I need to expand my spreadsheet above 1000. Yes, I have a spreadsheet set up starting at level 227 to monitor the frequency of advancement for all 7 Hero Stats that are advanced when adding in Mastery points. I've got into the good habit of adding in no more than 1 point to Raven, Bear and Wolf and then going to the Hero stats to check if an advancement has been made, or not, as the case maybe. I then go back to the Skill Tree to add 1 to each Mastery slot and return to the Hero Stats to do another check. I repeat this if I have at least 3 or more Mastery Points in hand.
Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@Hern_the_Hunter
if I'm correct, the max number of mastery points is 1000 per branch (total = 3000)
hope this will help you with the speadsheets
here a link to a video showing this :

@Hern_the_Hunter Amazing persistence, congratulations and good luck reaching 3k. I'm at 500 bear myself, which I feel is fairly good.
@Hern_the_Hunter Others have already indicated that the max is 1000 per category for a total of 3000. If you’re interested in crunching numbers, you might sympathize with my call for numerical values on each category. That aside, since you have reached over 800 points in all categories, I would be very interested in knowing specifics about your Eivor’s stats. I previously posted a topic proving that Mastery Points have diminishing returns. If you were to strip your Eivor of all Power points and look at the stats, it would be very helpful in further understanding the degree of diminishment.
@TheNorfolkian When I first started putting the data down on paper, health went up by odd numbers. My starting point from 227 to 239. It skipped 240 & 241 and started to go up by even numbers from 242 to 262. It then skipped 263 & 264 to resume advancing by odd number levels again, from 265 to 283. This patten of odd/even numbers has been ongoing for health. As far as the other six Hero Stats are concerned, they go up once every 9 or 10 levels. I'm not aware of any sign of diminishing returns?
@Polyedra Many thanks for that comment. The thing with me is that I cannot resist in buying 2 scrolls of knowledge every time I level up!
Now playing the game for a 2nd time, I am just thankful that I can invest skill points into post-400-Power nodes rather than dumping skill points into Mastery Levels. Yes indeed I read somewhere that each can accommodate up to 1000 points (which is crazy and not giving enough stat-boost IMO).
@Hern_the_Hunter Honestly, I'm finding that grinding Mastery Points is a fruitless endeavor.
From what I can tell... me putting 1 MP on Bear only gives .1 on Melee damage. For every 10 Mastery Points, you can get 1 measly melee damage? So I need 300 MP to just get 30 Melee DMG? I get more Melee Damage using 2PC Waylander without the headache.
Question: On Nightmare, am I still fighting enemies 100 lvs higher than me when I'm at max level?
I'm not aware of any sign of diminishing returns?
@Hern_the_Hunter Oh yeah, there are diminishing returns. I proved it in that thread I linked. It’s easy to not notice it, but if you were tracking how the stats improve for every 100 points you put into each category, you can see the total yield of increases reducing over time. I determined conclusively that putting 100 points into each category gets the most benefit, but beyond that there is little benefit. It’s very similar to the diminishing returns on socketed runes which was masterfully analyzed by @Randelia (whom I cannot praise enough for the work). Three runes gets the most benefit, but more than three, no matter where they’re placed, start to show dramatically diminished returns.
