    Hello!

Just as the title suggests, I think it would be a great QoL improvement to revisit the ranking system in MatchMaking. I'm going to be straightforward and say that these ranks are ugly. It's giving Year 2000 Neopets vibes of ugly (Nothing wrong with Neopets, but it's 2022 now).

    • First, animals have nothing to do with Trackmania.
    • Second, they do not follow any theme at all (with the exception of Gold maybe?).

For anyone who forgot what all the ranks look like, here you go: https://www.trackmania.com/2021/08/31/ranked-3v3-points-update/: (https://trackmania.com/2021/08/31/ranked-3v3-points-update)

    Bronze:
    Wasp, Manta Ray, Dolphine (HUH?)

    Silver:
Fox, Horse, Wildcat (Mammals w/ 4 legs?)

    Gold:
Owl, Eagle, Falcon(?) (This one is probably the one that makes the most sense in terms of animal themes)

    Master:
Bronze, Silver, Gold Car (Lets go from animals, to cars... ok..)
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am perfectly fine with the Elo System, and I think the points system is "mostly" fair. However, the Matchmaking pairings, and the map pick randomizer really need's a major adjustment. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten the same map (Looking at you #15) 5 times in a row with the same group of players as a Gold 1 rank.

The Structure could also use a refreshing, maybe some more in-between ranks from Gold to Master since there is now a large player base.

TL;DR Since MM Ranking is now going to play a part in Pro-Play, the ranks should look and be taken more seriously. No more cutesie, badly drawn animals.

    Thanks,
    Import

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@Evo-Import Oh wow i so agree!!
The ranks are extremly ugly and very very kidy. The design of it looks like a game for 5 years old.

I liked more the first design with challenger master with the number III and colors. It feel more serious and incredible to have it aside your name and feelt great to reach the rank. Now its just ok, i will be a ugly bird to a ugly car with a 5 years old design.

The rank UI design needs to be redone in a more serious way and not with animals.

Also the mm balance is completely wrong, teams are rarely balanced
