I previously helped report an issue on the Xbox side of things that seems to be related to the Far Cry Arcade website. ( https://discussions.ubisoft.com/topic/138490/facing-endless-loading-on-far-cry-arcade-website-when-adding-on-favorite/24?lang=en-US )

Aside from this issue (or perhaps related) is the fact that all xboxone players are unable to publish (updates to their preexisting) maps due to a "Redhorn-7800018" error.

I guess Redhorn errors point to issues with the online map storage services rather than the G2W Arcade website, so I figure I make a separate post about this here..

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

Hello @BULLMESS79 thank you for your reply.

We recently reported a few issues with the Far Cry arcade maps to our IT teams as they involve our servers and were told that unfortunately any issues found in the Far Cry Arcade within Far Cry 5 and on the website, will be unable to be fixed due to the dev team no longer being involved or updating the game.

We are unable to patch any of these types of issues out of the game now. The only workaround we have is sometimes unlinking your Xbox account from your Ubisoft account then relinking it could help some players with this issue. You can try this via our website here > https://account.ubisoft.com/en-US/account-information

Hello @Steve64b thank you for your post.

We currently have our IT teams looking into the issue of the Far Cry Arcade, I can see another agent was able to report that certain linked accounts such as Xbox accounts linked to Ubisoft Accounts may have been causing issue, and unlinking these accounts could sometimes temporarily fix the issue on the website.

This investigation is still underway but as this is happening in-game as well as on the website, we may be unable to fix this in-game.

Locating an Arcade map in-game, playing the map, and favouriting the map in-game, was known to then allow you to access this same map via the Far Cry Arcade website after a few page refreshes, but we only know this to work on PC so far.

Still experiencing this issue. Any word on a fix?

    Hey,

I found a previous Redhorn error that was related to textures. Would you be able to try removing any textures and uploading the map again, just to see if this could be the same thing.

The issue seems to occur when people publish an update to an already published map (update-in-place, instead of republishing a copy). A workaround is saving the updated map as a new map, and publishing that one instead.

Anyone on xbox can try removing the terrain textures and setting generic shapes' textures to default to see if that indeed is related. If the map publishes correctly, and also do an update-publish to that map, to see if it really is the issue.

    Hey @Steve64b

Ah, thanks for sharing that bit of info and workaround, that's useful. If it turns out to be related to textures again that will be good to know.

As of 9/18/22 its still an issue. Favoriting a nap hasnt been working just as long as the updates off maps. Please fix. 🙏

For clarity: unlinking your Xbox account from your Ubisoft account will indeed allow you to log in to the Far Cry Arcade website. However, you will not be able to browse any of the Xbox related pages (profiles, maps) on that website because you unlinked your account. So this workaround is only useful if you want to browse the PC and PS4 maps.

The Far Cry 5 Arcade experience on xbox is broken since ~August 8 2022. While you can still play/explore maps in the Arcade:

    • You can't rate maps, so maps (uploaded after ~august 8 2022) won't have ratings. You won't know if the map you'll be playing is any good, (though the ratings in itself also didn't mean much).
    • maps published can't be updated by their creators (Error: Redhorn-7800018). If creators want to update their map, they should report their map for deletion, and upload the map under a new name. Publishing a completely new map (name) works, publishing map updates doesn't. Note that creators can at max upload 500 maps. (After hitting that, players need to use either a new linked ps4/xone account (if publishing on console, reusing the same game license) or a whole new Ubisoft Account (if publishing on PC, requiring a new game license).
    • maps can't be (un)favorited ingame (Error: Snowshoe-70A8B0D3). This means that you can't maintain a list of your favorite maps, and also means that players without Xbox Live online access can't download Arcade maps into the Map Editor that way anymore.

My own Far Cry Arcade Community Maps website: (https://maps.farcry.info) uses the Ubisoft Far Cry Arcade website to index newly uploaded community maps. Now that information is unavailable for xbox maps.

As a workaround, any xbox maps accessed through MapSwapper: (https://ms.farcry.info) will be added partially to my maps website. I say partially, because I am only able to retrieve a map's thumbnail and mapdata: data on the creator and mapname is unavailable in that format.

So, xbox players can check out https://maps.farcry.info/xone: (https://maps.farcry.info/xone) for an alternative and incomplete listing of newly uploaded Xbox maps.

Little bump here, with good news!

It looks like someone at Ubisoft managed to fix the Arcade Website, so that it will list the Xbox maps again!

I can't verify the map rating and map update publishing bugs (as I'm only on PC), but I've heard players reporting the rating and map updating bugs were fixed too! 🙂
