Anybody heard of people getting permabanned from Ubisoft for using a software to bind their DualShock controllers to PC?

So a good friend of mine sent me this message on Discord. I don't play on controllers but I have a lot of friends who do.
since tuesday (8/23/22) there has been a load of players being banned for using a tool so they can connect their dualshock controller to the pc they get a email saying they are banned and its not reversible and they cannot go against the ban
