The key is back, I can now get it from the guard... but when I try to use it on the cell, the game ask me for the key ?!!! I tried two times...

@max-attac Exactly the same for me. I´ve tried it 3 times now, with the same result.

im wondering if anyone even tested challenge if everything works correctly before releasing update.

in memory 8 sequence 12 where we had to do whole game again because max upgraded ram didnt let us finish task for „upgraded ram” hit :v especially when these trials are much more annoing to complete

The key is working when you kill the guard, you can't just steal it. Now we can finish the trial but without the 'Remain non-lethal' task completed.

I'm a PC player and it's just the same for me !
I'm able to pick up the key from the bully and it dosen't open the cell's door at all !!!! is this a king of bad joke from the computer designer (if we can call them like that...) ????
They dont know that after resolving a bug fix, they have to check that their correction works !!! this is just BASICS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is just unacceptable and unbearable !
and now what ???? We'll have to wait for an other month to see this new issue resolved !
this game doesn't deserved to be called "AC" ! It crashes all the time and for no reason, just like that and it's a bug's naste !

On PS5. Same (new old) issue! Made a manual save FIRST. Stole key. Stealthed my way through this mind numbingly tedious bush course. Looted all boxes along the way. Carefully made my way to the cage ... so close. So close, now. Almost done with this nightmare forever. I can taste my last trophy and ... "door locked".

SERIOUSLY??? This game is complete trash. What kind of mindgames are you people playing here? Let me know when this dumpster fire is actually fixed. For real. Not just patched with a wet square of single-ply toilet paper.

@ubi-keo i can now loot the key from the guard but i still cant unlock the cell door still rendering this challenge unbeatable because even though i have the key i cant unlock the cell door because the game thinks i dont hve the key what do i do?

Same issue. Key is present, can be stolen from guard, but doesn't open cell. XBox One, OS v10.22000.4975. AC Val, patch v1.5.3

Confirm killing guard for key allows the key to work, but affects mastery skill restriction.

Truly amazing. It goes this long without being fixed and then they finally release a patch to “fix” it and they comically broke it further. Just let us kill people on this challenge and move on at this point. How could no one have tested this all the way through to make sure nothing else broke? Is there anyone with a brain on this dev team?

Previously, the problem was that the key disappeared. I called the support and they told me that it will be solved with the next update and indeed it was solved and the key appeared, but when the key is stolen from the soldier, the unlocking does not work. But if you kill the soldier, the key works, why? Knowing that you must take a non-lethal approach to get the gold medal. I'm upset because there is no one left and I will finish all the challenges with gold medals

I was so happy to have read in the patch notes that they were fixing the Brute bug so that he spawned with the key, even more excited when I spawned in and saw that he actually had it. I thought to myself “Wow, Ubisoft really came thru for us hardcore trophy hunting fans that buy all of their DLC and religiously play this game.” I then stole the key, snuck past everyone and was so excited that I was about to get Gold on this challenge after a month of waiting, seeing as it is the only thing I need for 100% of all trophies… you can then imagine my disappointment when the key didn’t unlock the cage. “Hmm must have not stolen it from the fatass” I thought to myself, so I quit out and tried again.. and again.. with every restart I could feel my anger rising. So I ask why? Why Ubisoft can’t you do this right? Why must you imbue false hopes upon us hardcore fans just to crush us? Will we have to wait a whole other month to finally get this trophy we should have gotten 2+ months ago? This is unacceptable.
