Unsolved Disappointed with co-op or partner way at the game

I bought the game FAR CRY 6 to play online with another person. I played alone till the mission you can invite a friend or do coop. We continued together the story and missions till he got Chorizo (I joined his session). When I tried to get mine I couldn't. So I logged out and came back alone to try, in that moment I realized that I was in the beginning of the story, like I didn't do the other missions with him and I had to do it ALL again to get Chorizo the dog too.
I'm very disappointed because it means if I play alone I get the others amigos and go ahead on the story, if I play with someone I can't.
Is this an error or there is a solution? Can you help me? Thanks.
P.S: I love the game and the amigos, I'd like them all can come with me in the cars, etc. -

Progress is held with the host of the session.
So if you hosted the co-op session, it would be your friend who have to continue from where they were up to in Single Player.
