    Dear Ubi/Massive,

I love both division games a lot but playing the base content only for years (missions, open world) with few exemptions.

For years now I was hoping for improvement and expansion of the base game, means improved tasks for the open world, use of non-used locations/buildings/areas for further tasks, more missions (like in base game, not these modes), so many unlocked low hanging fruits requiring limited efforts, further map expansions and the like. People were raising these things here and in Reddit for years, which gave me hope for future content.

Because I am not interested in new gear, new exotics, seasons and manhunts which are nothing else than repetition with some technical effects, modes like incursions, resistences, raids, summit, Kenly … apparel… I am deeply disappointed with the upcoming content … waiting for years, basically since release of WoNY all additions were completely useless for me and my friends, all of them playing both games for years, loving the base game, and now again only new gear, exotics, a useless progression system (which makes the content easier while it should be the other way round, the more experienced a player is, the more demanding the tasks should become) and again a new mode only … .

Apparently you made a great map for this Countdown mode but I am wondering why you didn’t make this map as expansion of the base game and you could have put this mode on top, to make the base game and mode lovers happy, like the great Survival mode has been put on the same map. Apparently technically no issue.

I know a lot people were asking regularly for further gear, exotics, skills … and all this technical stuff for the grinders and build addicts but there are also the other division lovers asking for years for more/better playable content as mentioned above, a lot friends left the game because of that.

I wonder why this part of the player base is continuously ignored, for years? Is this part the minority of the player base? I do not think so.

But I am grateful for your addition of the outskirt missions and WoNY, which are all great additions! Thank you!

Now I am wondering if I should bury my hopes or whether there are any signals for future content that suits our tastes, the great base game(s).

Further, still dreaming of a Division 1 remaster with open world content 😊, would be happy to pay 100 bucks for it … ok, give you 200 😊.

    A very disappointed Gnarly

Don't forget they said that this update is only a small part of what they have been working on so who knows what lies ahead.

Look at how successful similar live service games like Destiny 2 are. It has a strong playerbase, new fat content and is forever being updated since 2017.

A non-live service game like Outriders is also getting WorldSlayers which looks phenomenal for those who enjoy looter shooters and the grind.

If the same was to happen to Division's playerbase you'll get nothing but complaints from players who have "limited game time" and will be very vocal about how unfair it is for them.

Nothing would make me more happier if Division received the same expansions like Destiny even if it cost in the region of £30 for a season of enjoyable, exciting content.

To me it feels Massive are shoehorning in content that makes no sense and it appears there is no real direction or strict Roadmap model. If that's the case then be done with Division 2 and announce Division 3.

I think Ubisoft should pinch devs from from Bungie who are the decision makers in Destiny because the game needs a new set of eyes from people who excel in this genre.

They say whatever, talk is cheap.
The work on this [censored] update started only in November, to realize in January that it will take more time and work, beyond the February plan... we still don't have an new ETA for it.
They said the same about Breakpoint, just to come up with an underwhelming update, and then kill it...
So... yeah... I don't believe anything they say. I believe only what I see, when I see it.

If you keep an eye on the business side, there enough noise about Ubi not doing very well lately... there is even noise about the Gs not rejecting the idea of a sale anymore, which tells me they think there is a risk of very tough recovery (or no recovery).
I think there are better chances for The Division franchise if Ubi is bought by a serious player (like Microsoft), than if it stays under the current asinine management.

I hope that this is true and that they do not forget the base game.

I think this is all MetaVerse related [The Big Picture]
    Begin of the future stuff.

-Sony and Microsoft are buying all Game developing companies.
    - Sony and Microsoft get bought up by (idk) Apple.
    - Apple gets bought by Facebook.
    - Facebook gets bought by Google.
    - Then maybe that great reset stuff I keep hearing about.

And in the end, everything electronic comes from 1 big Internet Company called MetaVerse.

@suspiciouspixel I'd pay a monthly subscription if it meant regular updates.

$5/mo, but we're getting new missions/strongholds quarterly, plus game modes and map expansion annually. $10/mo? Idk.

They could release a WONY sized map each spring, then 2-3 missions plus new Stronghold quarterly. New Game Mode each fall, as well as a new Countdown Map and Summit floor type. Keep the quarterly seasons, and have an apparel event in each season. Plus sprinkle in some special event bounties or mission tweaks kind of like how Hitman does theirs.

So for $60-$120 a year you are getting 8-12 new missions, 4 new Strongholds, a new map, new game mode as well as additions to old game modes, seasons with apparel events, plus a smattering of fun events that tweak known bounties or missions with a special target.

    Pretty much.

Pull a Rockstar and post a blog saying Division 3 is being made for next gen consoles. You don't need to say much else. Just knowing it exists will be more of a relief.

A new game on a new console hardware base with a live service model that mimics Destiny 2, Warframe, etc. It's the dream. Maybe those bent on staying in Division 2 will one day feel the last gen console limitations or even understand why the game will never get cross play without a new game.

It feels to me that they're just following a mandate to squeeze more revenue out of their existing games. Pump out some new seasons in the hope they can sell more season passes until their other games are ready. I'd be happy to see a Division 3 that dumps last-gen consoles, but that seems years away.

Honestly it's no mistery, ubisoft was shooting at all sides trying to build on quantity over quality, that goes against the idea of live service game being a quality good that gets constant support instead of multiple simultaneous projects that are meant to release and have some support for an year or two if it gets really lucky while in time for the next project to roll in and replace it. They did it with division 1, they did that with division 2, they did with Wildlands, they did with Breakpoint.

The end result is games that sell well but have bad support and rushed releases based on hype since studios have to work on the next project already meaning, Bungie IS Destiny 2, Ubisoft is NOT Massive and Massive is NOT Division only. If Ubisoft says to shut it down and move to avatar and star wars, them massive shuts the game developtment down and moves to avatar and star wars, while Bungie is 100% a single studio for one full live service game Massive is not.

Siege is the exception for Ubisoft not the rule, unless they actually give the same treatment for the studio making live service game the same they give siege developtment team, no way division 3 will be a reality and actually be a live service game that lats more than 1-2 years

Let's not pretend that live service is anything but a way to inject MTX in every game...
"Quality good" should be applicable to ANY released game, not to live-service only.

@desrocchi True, but the idea of live service game is also long time support, something they clearly were never aiming at anything they wanted to make live service and Siege is actually the odd one out. Hilariously i have seen games that were never planned to last as long outliving many live service games

That's because they were planned to be engaging and satisfying on their own instead of being just a front for an online shop...

This is not to say I don't like TD2, I love its gameplay, I just wish it weren't so hellbent in thinking of itself as a multiplayer experience.

@desrocchi I was exactly talking about an online game actually, Payday 2 is literally from 2013 and still getting updates with new content 9 years later

Yes, I figured. That's why I said they were games built to be engaging and not just storefronts.

@desrocchi Hilariously that's one of the developers own comment regarding Breakpoint NFTs, "Why don't we just make good enganging games instead since those sell well?"
