When I go to donate towards proficiency of a brand, there are two options - donate an item of that brand, or donate crafting materials (steel, titanium etc).

However, there doesn't seem to be a way to donate brand resources - i.e the stuff you get when you break an item down.

Is this intentional? I have been holding onto brand resources for Yaahl and System Corruption, and would like to be able to use them for this purpose, especially due to the limited crafting options available for these brands. Yes, I could craft a piece then donate it, but that just adds yet another step to what is already a very tedious process.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

    Seems reasonable, specially with brands

Addendum - I realize that deconstructing an item also yields some crafting materials, and that there may be a way to arbitrage this to gain a net increase in materials. However, simply donating an item doesn't give these materials.

If the math shows this is an actual concern, change the ratio at which brand resources yields an increase in proficiency - i.e. 2:1 instead of 1:1
