@Ubi-Keo Moving forward with the quest as you had suggested seemed to have worked.
After collecting a 4th shard, Eivor said "thats all of them" or something akin to that. My quest was completed and i was onto the next step on my journey. Ill do my best to explain the next part.. As far as i could tell i saw two gold shards added to my inventory on the right hand side, despite this my inventory only read 4 shards. i went ahead and opened the gate, much to my surprise. Im not sure if the un-mentioned fix is that it just completes the quest at 4 shards or what. Regardless im pleasantly relived that im able to progress.
