Sorry, I keep searching but cannot find an official response for this. I know some games consider ReShader as a problem. I want to use it for its crosshair layers support... Is this kosher with Ubisoft? My old gaming monitor had native crosshair display on game mode (MSI) and I'm seriously missing it :-))

Hey ubi, can we talk? Seriously, over a year with no new content. Lame, but I get it. However since there's no actual content coming for another 4 months...what say you to some pvp balance and tuning? Have you looked at the Stat sheet of what talents are being used? Or the fact that nsync/unbreakable /adren rush combo is hands down the most used by everyone? And also brokenly ridiculous to play against... Especially since half the people left actually playing this game are blatantly cheating (cronus). I'm not asking for a complete game over haul here. But idk maybe a nerf to nsync by half? Or buff optimist? Nerf intimidate/lady death. Something? Anything to show that pvp is even on the radar? When d2 launched and high health low armor clutch builds were meta it took only a few months for that to be nerfed into the grave. The meta in the dz hasn't changed in basically the last year. It's so stale, so frustrating, and so utterly demovtivating to play the game. Especially when at the core of this game it's all about build diversity and trying new things, experiments with builds and pieces. There's no point when you try a new build and get folded over and over by the same build. Here I'll lay it out for you. Unbreakable, adren rush, contractors, fox prayer, coyote mask, usually 2 piece w&h Co, nsync famas, striker shield, fire wall spec. That's the build that atleast 98% of the community runs. Nothing else holds a candle. At mid, long or close range. Not to mention how insanely unbalanced the firewall medkit is. 200% healing for ten seconds.... Why? Why is that a thing. Guy gets off a med kit and all of a sudden he's a tank for 10 seconds. Nigh unkillable. I love this game and have played since d1 Beta. Please for the love of everything that is good an Holy, for whatever Gods in whoevers skies...change some damn talents, nerf something, buff some thing. Just change it. Sincerely,
Everyone that's gotten laid out over and over again by an nsync famas that it's way damn harder than it should.

The Division 1 was a game ahead of its time. Amazing setting and story in a freezing NY with a ruined Christmas due to a virus outbreak, with corpses piling on the streets and several factions fighting to take control of what was left.  It came with some amazing DLCs like Underground, Last Stand and the best one ever made: Survival, which had a steep learning curve but it was highly replayable and it is still today. And some very fun and challenging Incursions. Division 1 was a game in which you could log in and there were so many different things to do. Surely it had bugs and rebalancing that needed to be fixed but the whole build system and the PvPvE made it a unique game that changed a lot of lives. 

Then came Division 2, with a different -and worse- setting: no more snow, no more corpses piled on the streets. But it came with a huge map, amazing detailed environments, superbly designed missions (still amazed at Coney Island mission details!) and story. With secret hunters hidden in the map,  3 different DZs to put less players in the same server (which ruined the initial DZ concept somehow). It came with raids and a couple of OK-ish DLCs (Summit was just a very low detailed setting in a skyscraper with no windows, that seemed to be in alpha design compared to the main game when it came out, and Countdown is instant fun and good for looting, but the XP reward makes it just not worth the time spent in it). Raids, while superbly designed, are not for everyone as you need 8 very coordinated and skilled players to succeed in them. DZ experience was definitely not so fun as in Division 1, with a shortened Time to kill, a Rogue button to flash the opponent about your intentions, and not enough good loot to risk getting in there. And a very unbalanced experience for solo players vs teams, including a system that gave a huge advantage to players that had more time than others to raise up their proficiency level, which narrowed even more the player base willing to play pvp.
Division 2 also came with too many gearsets hidden under repetitive seasons, to the point that some gearsets just are turned obsolete by others and not fun to play with at all, or are so situational that are left in the stash once you try them. A good job has been done rebalancing weapons so no one stands out, but we are missing the fun of getting a truly differential exotic weapon, they are more of a collection item than having any real use in the game. However, Division 2 is still an amazing game that many of us play every day. The build system is fun, the level of detail is amazing and there are plenty of activities or game modes to choose from, solo or in a team. 

What lies ahead after the franchise was put on life support for a long while by Ubisoft, is a revamp with a mobile version of Division 1 (“let’s target the mobile audience to expand the player base”, they thought!) and a new free to play game mode “Heartland” that we think it’s some kind of Survival battle royale but without the big learning curve of the original Survival. And none of them are probably going to be a big success. Let me elaborate why:

About Division for mobile devices (Resurgence):
Ubisoft is developing a mobile version of Division 1 to reach a larger audience through mobile. Here we find the two different types of players that play on mobile devices:
1- Those who are new to Division universe. They play mainly on mobile and they want quick action/instant fun games on their mobiles. A typical use case is “I play on my mobile while I commute”, which means they want easy to play and instant fun games. Instead, they get a game with a build system that takes time to master and requires a fair amount of looting, precise controls to aim weapons, and without the components that made the original game a success: incursions, DLCs like Survival, etc. Playing pvp in DZ through mobile in which you require a lot of fight skills, covering, aiming etc. it’s just not going to work. It might work as a support companion app of a larger console/pc game, but it won’t work as a standalone game since mobile players want instant fun and won’t be grinding for two hours on their phones for their perfect gear while commuting home. 

2- those that played Division 1 and that may still play it today (me!). Why should they play a worse version of Division 1 if they can still play the original with all its glory? Because they want to play while they commute? We have accessories (hello, Backbone!) and remote play and we can play the original game in our mobile if we want to. I wouldn’t bother playing a worse version of it if I can play the original good one, as much as additional lore is included with the upcoming mobile version. It will be a worse experience than playing the original and still very good Division 1. If I want to play in a snowy NY full of corpses after a ruined Christmas (unbeatable setting!) I will rather find a couple of hours to do so and I will jump on my console, not on my mobile. 

About “Heartland”: I think Ubisoft is trying to capitalize on Survival huge success but reducing the learning curve to new players. In fact, Survival has been so far the only BR game mode that has received very good feedback from players among all Ubisoft multiple failed tries to position in the very competitive Battle Royale space. The concept of a standalone free to play Survival-like Heartland game may sound fun but 1) the setting is far away from snowy trashed NY with corpses piling up in Times Sq and hunters avoiding you to extract, and 2) it has zero connection with the main game Division 2. It’s a game for Division fans but without any connection to the main game. In Survival, we had the chance to loot for an exclusive urban MDR or get great gear and weapons from Survival caches that I could use in the main game, and the antiviral story was linked to the main lore. And I could play it with my Division 1 friends. In Heartland there is no connection at all. I may play it a few times, but as a Division fan, if I want a pve or pvp survival experience, I will probably jump back on the still amazing Survival DLC in Division 1 and fight some rogues and clear some landmarks in the snowy Times Square instead of a completely disconnected Heartland environment in the middle of nowhere. Heartland may serve to bring in new people into Division 2 once they find out about the build system and Division universe, but then who would buy a 4 year old game that is not getting a lot of new content? 

What would I suggest for the franchise moving forward if I were in the cockpit making decisions? Here are some thoughts:

In summary…
1- a new Survival as a standalone free to play BR game, highly replayable, with a “test mode” that flattens the learning curve for new players, and connected to the main game through loot and lore. a game that may serve as an intro to Division universe and story, but it’s good enough to be played and replayed on its own.

2- A remake of Division 1 for next gen consoles, as a main -not free- game and then grow from there with new missions, gearsets, weapons; lore, etc. With the level of detail of Division 2 and bringing in the lessons learned about weapon and gear balancing.

I know this is asking too much. But it’s a franchise many of us love, and I think the path it’s taking will not be the best one.
