Games are supposed to be fun and not being able to play on maps we want is no fun. I already only had a few games on Favela and don't know the map. And now a new map is coming out which I probably won't ever get a chance to learn. I hope Siege team implements a system where we select the map/maps we want to play -or at least prefer playing- before queueing into ranked/unranked games soon.

That would be better for new players too since siege maps has so much going on like the spawn peek locations, windows, breachable surfaces, drone holes, sites etc. The game takes a lot of time to learn which can scare new players.

There is a system with that in the game.
You have to go into settings to find it.
Though it will make your wait-times longer.

And as for learning the map? Just play a few custom games with friends on the map so you can learn the layout.

@rambobambibambo that works only for quick matches. And learning is just one argument, you never get to play those maps in ranked/unranked.

@erkek2000 You can still learn the new map regardless of the fact that you won't be able to play it on ranked/unranked. And the setting that @RamboBambiBambo was referring to only affects training grounds. The best way to learn a nap is in custom games by simply touring through it to learn the layout, then going into training grounds to learn the pathways that the bots and other players might be and to come up with your own set ups to see if they'd be beneficial to you, and then going online to put everything you learned to the test and see where you need to improve. By complaining about the nap being available for other game modes that are not ranked/unranked only shows laziness and effort to try to learn the map for yourself. So why be lazy and put yourself in a disadvantage for whenever the map is put into ranked/unranked because you didn't want to go into other modes, rather than go into other modes and learn for yourself?

@hadesorso9288_ Indeed, one can learn the map if they really want to. However the game design should be allowing players to do so without compromising the flow of the gameplay. Players should not be expected to play only quick/training matches just to play the map they want. Map selection should be for Unranked/Ranked games too. These game modes force you to play maps that you don't want half of the time. Also the down time of playing Unranked/Ranked would be lowered since there wouldn't be map ban during the ban phase which is the phase where most players are AFK or alt tabbed.

@erkek2000 map selection isn't in quick match, it's always random. And with ranked, only certain maps are used to bring it fairness to both teams, which is why maps like house and other maps that are not in the map rotations for ranked are used, so simply adding maps to a ranked and unranked rotation doesn't simply work when some maps are made to be one sided for a specific role
