Unsolved My game no longer takes controller input

I have over 3k hours on the game and my most recently bought controller was starting to wear down so I wanted to try to use my switch pro controller. It can't connect to for honor on its own so I tried using x360ce to get it to work and I'm sure I used it wrong. Now my game takes no input from any controllers. I own 2 copies of the game one through steam and one on another account only on ubisoft connect. On both accounts controllers no longer work. Controllers still work for my other steam games but for for honor on both accounts they no longer do. Steams controller configuration settings do not fix it. I deleted and verified game files multiple times and deleted and uninstalled ubisoft connect. It is also not a driver issue as all of mine are updated. My last hope was factory resetting my pc, which I did, and for honor still doesn't work! I need help I have no idea what I have to do to fix the game.

@jafusah Hey! So sorry to hear about the controller issues that you have been having. It sounds like you have already done some extensive troubleshooting.
Is it possible that a simple reset of key bindings in the settings menu might get this to work?
Additionally, have you tried reinstalling the drivers for your controller? -
@jafusah Hay I'm also having this problem on steam, the only work around I found out was to download steamlink app and connect you controller to your phone and play the game through your phone on the background (this game also doesn't play nice on steamlink if your game is on fullscreen) don't worry there's no noticeable delay when look at your monitor.

This seems to be a very odd and unique situation you have found yourselves in, as it's not something I've seen before. The game is only officially supported to use the controllers listed here and shouldn't require the use of any other programs. Do you have any of these ones you can try, or see if there's another program you can use to try and make your controller work again instead of X360ce?Official Response
