    @azullfr This is good to know. Maybe an admin can help report this?

    I still find hanging around more or less anywhere is going to make one of these appear - if one is going to appear, that is!

    I still find hanging around more or less anywhere is going to make one of these appear

    that was also my case before the 1.4.1 Patch (in my 2 accounts) ... Now, it's no more the case in my 2 accounts ...

    Hello there!

    I've merged together several threads about being unable to find any Avenge Quests in-game. I apologise if any ongoing conversation has been disrupted by this merge. By creating a single thread, it helps us to keep information and updates from an investigation in an easy-to-find location.

    I'm sorry to hear that a number of you have had trouble finding Avenge quests in-game, specifically following the release of TU 1.4.1. Thanks for taking the time to share your reports with us within this thread.

    I've notified the development team of this issue, and that this is also affecting your ability to complete some of the weekly challenges. By the sounds of it, it seems that some of you have been able to find some Avenge Quests in East Anglia, around Scottoh Farm and the Ruined Tower, albeit after a bit of a wait. Could you let us know if there are any other specific locations where you've noticed Avenge Quests spawning more frequently, as this information could be useful for further investigation.

    If we require any additional information from you regarding the investigation into this issue, we'll reach out within this thread. In the meantime, please can you ensure that you have an up-to-date save file uploaded to the Cloud? You can check this by looking for the Cloud icon on your most recent save. These may be useful to the development team as they look into this further.

    Thanks! 😊

    @ubi-borealis

    Well, thanks for the response, at least sort-of.

    How do these things actually function? I've asked repeatedly. That'll help us understand how to approach this and also help us avoid wasting time and so help Ubisoft look at the issue. How are they generated? Deaths? Random?

    My experience, when they were common, was that they popped up more or less anywhere but definitely more likely in an enemy camp of some kind. They are definitely rarer at the moment than they have been previously. I have not had one at that farm for a long time and, as noted, don't bother going there. I have not failed to do any weekly Connect task.

    Anyway, noted about paying attention to where they pop up, I'll try and do that.

    Rarer right now, that's certain.

    Hello,
    thanks for your response 🙂

    About :

    Could you let us know if there are any other specific locations where you've noticed Avenge Quests spawning more frequently, as this information could be useful for further investigation.

    Well, I just can list the opposite = Before TU 1.4.1 I usually had avenge quests in my "routine" :

    1. Fast travelling to Black Peak >> 1/4 time an avenge quest when spawning
    2. 10 to 20 min stealthy cleaning Meldeburne >> 1/2 time = Avenge quest
    3. 15 to 30 min stealthy cleaning entire Walden >> 1/3 time = Avenge quest
    4. 15 to 30 min cleaning Forest Hideout and all the area around (woods with bears, wolves, bandits) >> 1/4 times >> Avenge quest

    Since TU 1.4.1 in these places it's not even rarer ... it's simply none (except at the Scotthoh Farm)

    This week I just could finish the quest at the Scotthoh Farm (like months ago when this problem was first reported, it was also during a weekly challenge) so I used that place as it was known to be a "reliable" one previously tested by a bunch of players.

    Both affected saves (PS4 pro) are ready to use in my 2 accounts :

    Note to "IdontKnowWhoAtUbi" : it will be nice if the people in charge of the challenges test them in real conditions (= same as players ones) before launching them 😉
    ( I already tested all the previoulsy places, waiting up to 30-40 min at each place, even tested with another internet box on another internet line and with another internet wire... Now, with a 200Wh setup ... glad it's not an high-end PC... I won't test more 😉 )

    @azullfr

    Very good point about testing in "real world" conditions. Some of these bugs we've been reporting are impossible to miss yet somehow they're not picked up before release. Terraria 1.4 is a good comparison; they had a huge bug tht made it unplayable but it simply did not occur for them when testing. The thing was that the nature of their set-up meant they could not have picked it up. Within hours they acknowledged it and got to work.

    I am convinced the avenge quest incidence rate is controlled on their end and is deliberate. It is too much a of a coincidence that the huge drop off in finding the avenge quests with TU1.4.1 coincided with the REPEATED avenge connect challenge week after week, when it used to be occasional. That combined with the window kills and horse trampling challenges just makes me think they are trying to consume play time.

    I idled for 10min to get a quest at Scottoh Farm when 1.4.1 dropped and realized how ludicrous it was. I go afk during the addon check, afk whenever I get an auto-completing Reda quests, afk to get an avenge quest. Is this really how the devs envisioned the game being played? absently? If I'm going to be sitting there NOT playing, I might as well not fire it up at all. And when I AM playing, I'm doing something unenjoyable like running over chickens with my horse?! That plus the "*NEW* difficulty settings" which cannot even perform its most basic function... Its too much. I have rage-quit games before, but this is the first time I disgust-quit a game.

    Am I missing a setting or am I only one in this server to die??? I have just recently started playing having stopped before either expansion. I remember seeing a revenge mission on my first mission on wrath of druids. Can not remember another. Saw inking how I can force it one. I'm a need and would rather revenge fellow nerd. Ty for any info ahead

    @bigalboski53

    Ubisoft has never told us exactly what it is that makes these events appear so it is hard to say how to force it to occur. Sometimes these quests are always appearing, other times they take ages to appear. I do not believe the location is important, other than they are more common in enemy camps. I also do not think they are related to whether anyone else has died.

    The best method I can suggest is to go to an enemy camp and start killing. Eventually one should appear. There was a lot of talk about Scothoh farm in East Anglia so you could try there but I stopped going there because not many appeared.

    Hi all, thanks for providing additional information on this issue. I've passed that along to the team.

    The team has given a bit of clarification on how the avenge quests work. The game stores player death information on the server, and if that death meets certain requirements within another player's game it will trigger an avenge quest. The requirements are that the cadaver will spawn within a certain radius of player position, in an accessible area that is not restricted due to a quest line (such as onboarding areas, assault locations, and main quest areas), and that an NPC or animal enemy nearby that's set up to work with the quest system. There's also a cooldown period of 1 hour after you complete an avenge quest.

    It's possible that some element of this was thrown out of whack with 1.4.1, which is causing you all to see fewer avenge quests. I can confirm the team is looking into a solution.

    Excellent to read details on the mechanism. Many thanks.

    I am unsure about the cool-down time; pretty sure that I've had them in much quicker succession than an hour.

    Many thanks for your response and for these details 👍 👍 👍

    as @SpirantCrayon22 before TU 1.4.1 I could have avenge quests in less than an hour, but in different places, maybe the 1 hour cooldown was per areas ?

    I'm glad the team is looking into this and also that they gave to all of us (including you) some infos 👍

    I think I've had them close together in well under an hour. Doesn't matter, though, not like I go looking for the things!

    thanks for the info, it happened also to me, but only once 🙂

    Not being English fluent I'm not sure of what you mean ...

    1. Looking for avenge quest : I look for them only for weekly challenges when they are in a period of "almost non-existent avenge quest" like this week (again) : no single other choice ... (and I'm not alone in this case)
    2. Looking for the game mechanisms : of course I'm curious about them and I'm looking for them 🙂 (this is one of the reasons why I play AC Valhalla on 2 different accounts = to be sure that a behavior is the same or not, depending on the progress of the game or the choices made in the game for example, one thing I can not verify, for example, is a change in game behavior depending on the region of the server)

    @azullfr

    Oh, right, I mean that I do not look for these quests (unless it's for a weekly).

    I did go to Scotthoh farm this week and a quest did appear fairly quickly. Now we've been told that getting killed is a trigger the old idea of going there and dying is good. I am happy to be wrong about that.

    New test :

    Account 1 (azullFR) :
    Day 1 : waited at Scotthoh farm for 15 min = ok
    Day 2 : no test

    Account 2 (a2ullFR) :
    Day 1 : waited at Scotthoh farm for 25 min = Nothing (25 min wait + 15 min killing, walking = 40 min)
    Day 2 : waited at Scotthoh farm for 35 min = Nothing (35 min wait + 15 min killing, walking = 50 min)
    Day 2 : waited at Meldeburne for 30 min = Nothing (30 min wait + 10 min killing, walking = 40 min)
    [EDIT] : Day 2 / Session 2 : Waited at Ruined Tower for 20 min = ok >> Avenge at Scotthoh Farm
    Total Account 2 "score" : more than 500W for 5 Opals ... (with a PS4 pro... glad to not have an high-end PC !)

    Thanks Ubisoft for the buggy weekly challenge given a second time while you know it's bugged ...
