Since I bought the game I switched on Linux, so when will you bring The Division 2 on Linux with EAC compatibility layer ? I really whant to play but I don't want to use Windows or Stadia. The division 1 is playable so please, bring us the Division 2 !

Even better yet, make a launcher that will run and download the games all connected to Ubisoft for Linux using AppImage.
Ive seen other companies, do it lately and it runs like a dream. You can control everything what we see what we can do, if your worried about security.

There is another thread, and I'm trying to find it. I too have switched to Linux since buying the game and I have no intentions of going back to Windows.

I work in engineering for a large tech firm. This year we discovered a major OS related security vulnerability that even affected the military and as soon as I realized MICROSOFT knew about it for almost 8 months and told no one I bailed on their OS.

I need Ubisoft to start supporting Linux. I won't be able to purchase your products in the future if you don't. Meanwhile STEAM has the steamdeck coming out, it's extremely popular and Ubisoft is missing out on a huge market because that device will run Linux as the OS and use a layer to play games.

@darkpriest667 We appreciate you are eager for Ubisoft to start supporting Linux, at this time though there is no news to share on if or when this will happen.

After recently completing and having a great time with the Division 1 on Linux, I would gladly pay for the Division 2 if Ubi green-lights EAC for Linux (Apex Legends recently did this and runs great).

I could pay for a D2 steam version too if EAC was solved, so this is just like a +1 thing. Yesterday I launched D1 on Steam for a test and it actually launched smoothly and today I've tried running the game on Lutris, but so far I don't get past the EAC loading bar popping up for half a sec, disappearing and re-appearing in a loop. I think my next step/attempt is going to be Stadia, but I'd still rather own the game on my PC

I bought this game in the past when I used to run Windows on my PC. I would always get bsod with Windows so I switch to Linux and I haven't had those problems anymore. I really hope Ubisoft enable eac so I can play this game again.

I bought Destiny 2 in the past and later on it became free to play. Now they won't enable BattlEye on Linux, I feel screwed by Bungie.

I hope I don't feel the same way with Ubisoft.

The Division is great and survival is really fun to play. If I can play The Division 2 on Linux I would also buy the expansion.

@silent_83 I also had this problem with windows, BSOD every time a Ubisoft game was launched using Ubi-connect launcher. Linux completely fixed this and I have never had a crash since. I hope Ubisoft adds more diversity to its game environment by also allowing Linux users to play more of their games.
Looks like valve has made EAC compatibility for Linux relatively simple: https://www.pcgamer.com/epics-easy-anti-cheat-system-will-work-on-steam-deck-after-all/, but still up to the dev team to take the steps.

@silent_83 I kinda understand how you feel, but that's it, you can't really expect a game made for windows to have support for proton, great as it is it adds unnecessary complications and load for the developers. I'd worry more about newer games not having support for Linux in any way.

But I do hope some of the big companies start giving the Linux community some love.
