Unsolved help! no big mackerel

has the title says there is NO big mackerel at norway again iv searched evey coastline iv watched dozens of youtube tips but for a week now nothing all i need is swordfish to complete the game challanges but im stuck

Oh, God, not that one again! I'll be booting the game later; I'll try and remember to have a look. It always used to be impossible, there simply were none in the game. It got partially patched (that's when I did it). There might be specific locations. Here's the relevant - and rather long - thread.

Yes, it's working, though the game is not overrun with big mackerel. I went to the location suggested in the video by @Ubi-Woofer, it's in that thread. Second fish was a big mackerel. I did a bit of "fast"-travelling as suggested by @Ubi-Borealis. -
@spirantcrayon22 thank you for the reply and testing the mackerel area, unfortunately after trying many of the posted tips in the link you sent me still no luck. so after another 4 hours and still not one big mackerel maybe its a series x glitch or im just stuffed going to try a re-install see if it makes any difference if not il have to shelve the game i hate leaving games before i 100% clock them and cant believe this little B has wrecked my run lol thanks again and be safe

Oh dear! Perhaps you have done all this but just in case . . .
Make sure you do a bit of meditating. Start fishing for things that aren't mackerel. Spam Eagle Vision and look for bigger things (obvious, I know) - though they should show up red when the line is being used. Leave the ship near the area, fast-travel to the nearby peak and back to the ship. Wait for night/day without meditating. Put Eivor in the location, go and get a drink and go back.
I'm using Xbox One X, maybe someone else with a Series console can look.
