Earning Ubisoft Connect coins in ACV?

I just picked this game up and am about 15 hours in. I noticed completing achievements listed on Ubisoft Connect are only giving me XP, not coins. I have also purchased a bunch of stuff from the game store and I thought that was supossed to give you some connect coins as well, but I have received none. How do you earn coins to redeem the Connect rewards? I just finished FC6 and earned tons of coins just by playing through the game. More than enough to redeem all the rewards for that game. Confused why it's different for ACV?

@thepowersin893 you level up in Ubisoft Connect, you get coins, every level gets you 10 units, every 5th level - 20 units, every 10th level - 50 units.
Core challenges get you 50/100/250 XP, weekly challenges only 25 XP, but weekly community challenges 50 XP.
I had to figure something out to speed up the process and started completing challenges from Origins - I own both PC and PS4 versions, so that's 100 XP extra per week.
And I finally got the Valravn's Claw sword
