please have a solution for this. being spawn peeked 10 seconds into the round just drains my mood to play the game. just give attackers spawn protection for like 15 seconds or something.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@killertnt_ this is a dumb idea because it takes away the realism in the game, not only that but it only takes about 5-7 seconds to get into a building, so that means that they would about 8-10 seconds of invincibility and they'd be able to get a few kills due to an invincibility advantage, which is dumb, so if you don't know how to check for spawn peekers, then that's your fault for running out in the open without being cautious

@hadesorso9288_ I hear you - but since when has UBI cared about 'realism' the last few seasons? Or are we to believe that in real life, dead bodies disappear and leave little quake3 icons floating in space? Since when have anti-terrorist operatives been equipped with a glowing sheen, to make sure all enemies can see them easily? Since when do firefights ONLY take place at high noon and in well-lit buildings? Since when could anybody in real life go ADS while running at full speed? Since when have real life ballistic shields been rigged so they ONLY block X% of explosive damage? What real life ballistic shield user will throw his shield out of the way whenever anybody in front of the shield lightly taps it?

UBI threw 'realism' out the window in 2018 when they walked away from the Original tactical Siege, and turned it into this romper-room clown show. So if 'realism' is your only objection, then you really have no grounds for objection because Siege is NOT a 'realistic' game anymore.

I agree I think steps should be taken to minimize spawn peek potential. Just adding some kind of object in front of a window or tackeling the most problematic maps would really help. its not like the defenders need an extra element to get a lucky pick, attacking is already as hard as it gets

@slyrr7 then you're dumb for not seeing the realism that is still in the game because the only unrealistic aspect that is in Siege is the gadget aspect of it, every other aspect such as gun play and tactical thinking it's still in the game, so yes, realism is still in the game, which means your argument is still invalid, and who are you to decide that my argument is not fitting at all.

@karakzorn That's the entire point of attackers, their role is supposed to be hard which is why they were given better gun and gadgets to burn out defender utility, so again giving the attackers a spawn protection is dumb because within the timeline that was suggested for a spawn protection, attackers would be able to get 1 or more unfair kills on defenders because they'd be invincible to and kind of damage, so again if you and @Killertnt_ cannot handle spawn peekers or know how to drone them out, then that is your fault

@hadesorso9288_ "the only unrealistic aspect that is in Siege is the gadget aspect of it."
You mean BESIDES all the other totally unrealistic stuff which I already mentioned, and which you conveniently ignored, I suppose....? 😉

Well, given that you ignored everything I pointed out about this game which is totally UN-realistic, I would say that you haven't 'argued' at all. Which means it would be your response which is 'invalid'. But seriously, there's 'gun play' in Splattoon, and you can 'think tactically' in Team Fortress 2 or Halo - would you call those 'realistic' shooters? The gunplay in Siege has many unrealistic aspects to it, which UBI tossed in just because the e-sport crowd was whining about 'meta' and 'balance' issues. There's the recoil, which UBI keeps subjectively altering for every weapon to try and force statistical conformity in the K/D ratio of every operator. How does that tally with 'reality'? In real life, a particular kind of bullet in a particular kind of gun will produce only a certain amount of recoil. That's not 'tactics', it's objective, physical fact. Nobody in real life can 'change' the amount of recoil produced by an exploding quantity of gunpowder. You can try to compensate for it with physical training, or actual equipment. But you certainly can't change it magically just because you think it's 'unfair' that one kind of gun has more kick to it than another kind of gun. I also mentioned the ADS issue. If you try to go ADS in real life, while running or even walking, you won't be able to hit anything except by accident. Go ahead and try it if you don't believe me. Then come back and say the gun play in Siege is 'realistic'.

It sounds as if you need to quantify what you think 'realistic' and 'tactical' mean in your mind, because again I say that Siege is no longer a realistic, tactical shooter, and I have yet to hear you offer any evidence to the contrary. And given that your 'argument' was little more than calling me 'dumb' and saying 'oh no you didn't', it sounds as if you may also need to bone up on what the word 'argument' means. Here's an instructional video to get you started:

@killertnt_ Unfortunately, how this game works is that you gotta look out for it. Certain maps have had tried to mitigate spawn peeking by careful placement of cover, notably reworked Kanal, but those solutions just warp the points of engagement for spawn peeking. Best way to counter spawn peeks is to keep your head on a swivel and learn how to counter it whenever possible.

@HadesOrso9288_ My #1 pet peeve for Siege is using 'realism' when 'immersion' would apply.
