The enemy outlines have turned on and I turned them off via the custom options on both of my saves. I've checked both saves and I have enemy outlines. There is no gear equipped that would cause them to become enabled. I have never once had them turned on?

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

Noticed that myself. Every enemy that I aim at with my scope gets tagged and has a wallhack enabled. This needs to go away ASAP, because playing with a build-in wallhack is no fun. I want enemies to be able to hide behind objects without me seeing them. That a big part of the fun in a firefight.

On a side note: all collectibles, like weapons crates for example, that I already picked up show up on the mini radar again, even though nothing is there. Not impressed with this update ...

This came in with the latest patch just got to hope the developer can put out a hotfix for this issue; I've stopped playing the game, as I can see the NPC's through objects and wall and at night they glow red

I noticed this and came to the forum to see if they also had this issue.
I have most of the HUD disabled for immersion reasons and so the gameplay has any amount of challenge so it was a surprise when in my first encounter with the enemies after installing the patch they get the obnoxious red wallhack highlight when looking at them. Tried looking through the options and couldn't find anything to remove it despite it being removed before. Either it's a bug or Ubisoft mistakenly removed the toggle and forced it on for everyone.

Yeah this is exactly what's going on with my game. I wish they would give an update on this situation.

If your on the PC platform there is a workaround rickidoo2010 has detailed it, I will put a link below; while the developers look into this issue

still nothing not anything this time from their team about their now broken game. With this glitch and along with the weapon wheel glitch breaking the game and stopping us from enjoying as we did before.

it seems i spoke too soon when i said Ubi was finally releasing their games properly considering the past few games have been awful at launch. I'm thinking that this time though it was deliberate as there seems to be some internal strife at Ubisoft so their answer is to say **** you to the fans who purchased and supported their products because of something going on with the director of the game not acknowledging abuse and harassment in the workplace. Oh well. Thanks Ubi next time I will remember how you've treated me in the past and ignore anything you release in the future like I should have done.

Any idea if this has even been fixed yet?

Tagging enemies is not a new thing in Far Cry games. There are a number of ways that one can tag enemies.

While I can certainly see the perspective of players that don't want this, it isn't really right to call it a bug and demand it "fixed". Because it is a core feature of the game.

The right way to "fix" it would be to offer a game setting that either enables or disables this -- so players can pick what suits their playstyle and expectations.

To be honest, I haven't looked, and perhaps there IS a setting.... and maybe THAT IS actually broken. If that is the case, then apologies and I agree -- THAT should be fixed.

I was playing FC5 Dark Hours DLC last night, and yes I am not imagining things, NPCs get tagged and outlined in that version of FC too. I am quite sure I recall it in FC4 too.

@tcarlisle2012 There are a lot of controls in preferences, including one for outlines. It has no effect SINCE the last patch. Before that, it could be shut off. As this wasn't an announced "fix" when the last patch was released, I don't think this is a mandatory core feature. Also, one of the UBI forum reps in another thread said they would pass the issue back to the programmers.

BTW, I had the hud stuff shut off in FC 4 and it was not a mandatory feature. Ditto FC 5 and FC ND.

We definitely need a separate option to disable enemy outlines through walls and foliage. I don't need to be seeing these outlines, and I generally prefer as HUD-free an experience as possible for the purpose of increasing my immersion in the world.

That is exactly what has happened. Been like this since that last patch and it just ruins the game for me. I play on a great tv and the outlines just ruin the overall package. Just wish this could be fixed so I can go back to playing it.

@closedmouth still having the issue, I'm not gonna bother playing this game if they force wallhacks thru QA negligence, they need to fix this.

There is a helmet that permits the player to see enemies through walls, on top of the scanning (recon). I use it all the time, because I for one, like to know where my enemies are, even though it's only a bit helpful, due to all the instant enemy re-spawning, which only leaves us with a guesstamite that the mini-map provides. Once Dani gets to around level 15 or higher and with upgrades and the right tools for the job, Dani becomes almost invincible, except for the occasional getting blown up, by being to close to objects when they explode. At least, that's how things work in my Dani world.

People have made such a fuss about outlines that I think 343 will almost certainly make it an option. If not at launch then very soon post-launch.

    @jasonduke2

    Do you mean Ubi?

The outlines were always optional. Not sure what's happened since the patch, but I'm 100 % sure it's not supposed to be like this. Crazy it's gone this long without getting fixed.
