I have been playing Far Cry since the first one. Most of the games have been OK I really like 3 and 4 the best... Got used to 5 and really like New Dawn. So I was really looking forward to 6 .... After about 3 hours of play I am sad to say the ONLY things I can say good , so far is that the map is very Large, lots of stuff to explore.. The graphics are very detailed and stunning ...
But so far general game play and weapons totally SUCK .. Handling , just the way the game feels sort of OK I really like the long Slide the guy can do .. But as far as Vehicles it just totally sucks.............. Weapons so far , are just ridiculous and suck I shoot an enemy in the head 15 times with what FC6 calls an M16 (which BTW looks like a short m14 ) and he is not dead .... please ..
So overall after 3 to 4 hours of Play . It Sucks .... Maybe I will learn to like it .. But I am just terribly disappointed after all those studios putting in all that work and it is not near as good as 4 or 5 or new dawn .....
Oh and one last thought or two .. I hate 3rd person games will NOT play them at all .. why is Dani switching into 3rd person at times..? and It just looks to me lioke they were trying to make an interactive Movie more than a game. but I am out th $60 so I will keep going for a while anyway .

Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@georgemonero 3 to 5 hours your still in the prologue mode keep goin yes the game gets ,much better
keep moving keep finding FND crates and other things to upgrade your out fit and weapons and do the treasure hunts
if your stuck look on google there are plenty of vids up about the game i'm at lvl 13 and yes only 68 % thru it and yes it is freaking FUN
the best part is if you need extra fire power hit TAB , then arsenal
load that rocket launcher you found and need to take out that tank or chopper .. hit tab again go back to your loadout you like for stealth but yes to change your supremo back pack you're gonna need to be @ work bench
the game does yes get better .......... as YOU PLAY IT
Having such a good time one-shotting soldados, helicopters, tanks...
The famed 'bullet sponge' enemies comes down to poor choice of weapon and mods. Practice makes perfect I guess.
So, solid gameplay. But what makes it is the story, cutscenes and acting. haven't finished but a good way in. A significant improvement on 5 and New Dawn.
No perks and this awful clothing system sucks pretty bad. The soundtrack is also very disappointing, Far Cry games usually have a great soundtrack. I am getting thru it, about 50% so far but I was looking forward to a better game. *shrug*
I'm glad the awesome soundtrack has been mentioned, it's rather excellent. Really captures the region.
I'm finding that the game is too 'comical/silly' now. And it kills immersion. Plus the lack of challenge and extremely fast spawn rates for enemies. No blood splatter on the ground from killing enemies. Characters whom I don't like and who don't fit the combat role that they are in.
This game is catered to hipster kids. It has gone the Fortnite, Watchdogs 2, Valorant, Far Cry: New Dawn, Rage 2, Wolfenstein: Youngblood and Saints Row 5 route.
Silly tone. Hipster characters who feel out of place in combat scenarios. And a revolution and enemy army comprised near solely of only females?
I'm done. Been playing since Far Cry 1. But the franchise has devolved into trash.
@georgemonero
I am pretty much disliking it so far. I am not going to play until a few things are addressed.
Just forget everything. CLEAR YOUR MIND and immerse yourself on Yara. This is an Ubisoft game so there are going to be SILLY BITS (lol). Just ignore them ! It's your game (for example one never has to use companions).
I myself really like this Far Cry. It's a lot more like FC1 & 2 with a lot of the best bits from the later outings. I think the environment really shines through and Ubi devs have taken a lot of time to make it feel "right". It has a sense of place that has been lacking since FC 1 & 2. In FC 1 I really felt that I was isolated and alone in some forgotten part of the pacific. FC2 was a forgotten part of Africa. FC 6 is a bit less "forgotten" being based on Cuba itself. Nevertheless the sense of SCALE I've been getting, especially when getting to the main island is amazing. Distant islands appear at a realistic distance and size whereas FC 5 and 4 always felt a bit artificial to me. FC 3 was good but never really replicated some of the feeling of the first game until this one.
I have been playing Far Cry since the first one.

Congratulations.
That's something that I'll never accomplish. I don't like first-person shooters. In fact, I've only played a handful of them in my life and I've been gaming since the late 70's.
Very much enjoying this game, however. This is probably the most entertaining first-person shooter that I've ever played. I'm sure I'd enjoy something more realistic, like ARMA III, but I don't have time for them. A few years ago some kid wrote in the Steam forums that Fallout 4 was the most realistic first-person shooter that he'd ever played. That's laughable, unless Fallout 4 is the only shooter that he's ever played.
In an absurdly comedic way, this game is loads of fun. It's jam-packed with combat variety, things to do, and games to play. I spend a fair amount of time fishing, not really into the rooster-fighting, mostly land combat, not much air combat yet. A lot of melee and stealth. Rarely use the Supremo.
After 38 hours, the good:
-Philly Barzaga's voice acting, dialogue and animations.
-The incredible amount of combat variety.
-Flight (Something CDPR utterly failed to do in Cyberpunk).
-Visuals are gorgeous
-Some of the music
-Sound/sound effects (often overlooked in video games)
-The UI, which seems to be better than Valhalla's.
-Map size and functionality.
-Side hobbies, games and puzzles
-The flanking, combined arms, and respawning of enemies from a distance, which makes the game much harder than it would be otherwise.
-I haven't experienced any bugs yet.
The bad:
-The driving is awkward with some of the vehicles and visually troublesome. I feel impaired most of the time.
-The respawning of enemies when they reappear close to you, which Valhalla had while exploring the woods.
-The 30 FPS cut scene cap, which not all players are experiencing, apparently.
-The save system is terrible.
-Crashed about five times, but the real problem is sending the crash reports, which takes bloody forever.
That's off the top of my head, but I'm not even close to finished this game.
It looks like it's going to be a 400-hour job for me to 100% complete it. Exploration, loot and quests. Maybe longer.
The map is massive. It feels like it's almost the size of Valhalla, but it probably isn't because Valhalla has other areas to explore besides England.
Don't scare people, Madhawk.
Everything is under control.

Dude, that is awesome.
The top two games on that list were the only two games that I was waiting to purchase to finish off this year.
That FIFA 22 game is incredible if you use Aranaktu's cheat table to play Manager Career on Legendary difficulty, CPU vs CPU.
It blows Football Manager out of the water. And with Konami dead and buried, EA Vancouver will be the King of the Kingdom for years to come.
I was very excited to try this game.. but then very disappointed. For me:
Cons: Not available on steam. Requires managing more than one library.
Pros: ??
Perhaps one day I will be able to add this to my Steam library and give Ubisoft my money... Until then I will save the $60 for when they want to make more money and sell to Steam users.
For me...
CONS: 1) Combat . Which is one of my least favorite things to do in most games, because at times it's fun, but at other times, it's scripted in a way, that if you stay and don't run, you will eventually run out of bullets and get killed by one of the endless waves of the enemy AI. Waves of unlimited enemies and invisible lines, especially in poorly scripted missions. due to it being programmed that way, making it impossible to clear out the area and collect everything, until we complete the mission, leave and return at a later time after said mission being completed. In one mission, I triggered 17 waves of enemies, ran out of bullets and got killed, then I re-did the mission stealthy, and completed the objective, left, came back and went Rambo on them, while only having to deal with 1 wave of re-spawning enemies. Invisible line scripting is just dumb. Please stop it Ubisoft, even though I know, that it will never happen, because it's part of the over-the-top Ubisoft chaos and mayhem fun and frustration that Ubisoft loves to throw at it's player base. Lastly, I despise timed limit missions and have pleaded with Ubisoft to stop it, but again, it's part of Ubisofts formula and that won't be changing anytime soon.
Pros: Exploring and everything else in the game. I play and enjoy this game for these reasons mainly. As a completionist, those are the things that matter most to me and not facing hordes and hordes of endless re-spawning enemies, which is not immersive at all, but is counter productive and at times, frustrating as hell.
I still love this game though and play it for around 12 to 16 hours everyday, since the games release and consider this game, the best in the Far Cry series, despite it's nonsensical combat and not letting us do certain missions our way, but are forced to do them Ubisoft's way. No game is perfect, but the overall fun factor, exploration and all around stories in this game, makes me happy and coming back for more, despite all the scripted combat flaws in the game. I'm off to more Far Cry 6 chaos, mayhem and unpredictable deaths now, especially explosive ones. Over and out!
@georgemonero Fishing stinks. Cast that far far away! Can't even catch 3 fish without constant line snaps and etc after spending precious materials to do it. What garbage. I actually HATE fishing. The same can be said with Red Dead Redemption 2 -- stinks!
There is alot of redudancy.
Pros: Open world, good story though not really original in that it's 'stereotypical'. Some fun things to do and does have it's ridiculous Far Cry disgustingly overtly awful elements that are considered 'challenge' oriented, but, they really stink is all.
All in all I'd recommend this but it's filling in time ... I'm playing this without nothing else out there -- waiting for a new release coming in November.
I've completed all the FC's 1-5 including New Dawn and am having a blast with FC6. A lot of people are complaining that there are only two difficulty levels but let me say that could not be further from the truth. Having played the first third of the game three times so far, with this last time being the most aggressive on my part... I have seen first hand how the enemies get so much tougher... and more voluminous... with one type so tough that they manage to put a lot of fear in me when I come upon them. The combat on this third run through of the game is SPECTACULAR.
The story is FC 6 puts FC5 to shame in terms of well acted drama and execution. Between the actions of the NPC's plus the story, one almost begins to feel some of the anger that people under authoritarian rule must feel. Especially an authoritarian rule where the ruler believes he is doing right while his army of oppressors run over the population.
I've also heard some people say they don't like the music. My secret to really loving the music is move the default music volume of 100% down to 50%. That puts it loud enough to hear and affect the emotion of the combat, but not so loud as to be in your face. Try it... and discover how some of the music/combat integration borders on brilliant.
I love that I can shut off all the 23rd century cheats... like xray vision, a radar hud, etc. Combine that with the more aggressive ai on my 3rd run through, and it makes FC6 supercharge your brain endorphins.
