FC6 has only 2 difficulty settings?!?
really??
UBI games are usually a piece of cake so now we're getting an easy mode and an easier mode?
I know im jumping the gun here but the game has "Story mode" and "Normal mode". normal always meant EASY in UBI games.
Why don't we have HARD and VERY HARD?!
Has anyone heard from a youtuber who played on the Normal mode and can say if it's easy or not?
With the whole full health regen mechanic we've seen on YT (which might and might not be the same with the Normal mode. I assume all YTers played on Story mode and not Normal mode) the game seems to be as easy as older FC games on Normal.
Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@topeira1980
Ahhhhhhh crap!
Mayday mayday we are going down! Ive just been triggered!
Where did you hear this???
This was like my one concern with this game.
I was going to buy the game tomorrow and just say stuff it I’ll try it for myself.
But if this is true I am definitely holding off. I need to know whether this game is just gonna be super easy like FARCRY5 was….
If it is… I’ll pass. In fact I might just go back and replay FARCRY 4 and PRIMAL…

oh dear…. It’s true.
Toperia — check my post requesting a SURVIVOR difficulty! That’s what I want!
yeah the only two levels of difficulty is some serious concern. Let's hope a new game plus comes in the future along with the now capital for the fc experience infamous mode.
And the ability to respawn enemies throughtout all map not just outposts without having to resort to a mod would be very much appreciated, too.
@olalaquebien
It is a concern.
that’s why I was suggesting my idea for a survivor difficulty mode….

Is baffling the inclusion of only two difficulty settings.
I am actually starting to wonder whether it’s by design. I wonder whether Ubisoft have actually figured out how they can lengthen the time people play on these games by staggering roll out various wanted features or settings over time…
I mean that’s fine. But I just don’t wanna be playing that infamous difficulty mode like 6 months from now.
I can confirm there are only two difficulty settings. The "harder" one is extremely forgivin, seems to only adjust how many bullets enemies can take before going down.
@lamoi Agree about a "survivor" difficulty with survival aspects. Two other things I like in terms of difficulty is a perma death option and I also like when a game gates difficulty levels by only letting you unlock higher ones after completing the one before it. This ensures people don't dive right in on max difficulty (where I'm sure a good percentage fall off in frustration after a while) but experience the full game story on a normal setting first.
@olalaquebien As long as it's an option and not a requirement. I'm more partial to the idea of clearing a territory or region so that it is liberated and free of enemies but perhaps a few weak and smaller incursion patrols so it's not completely devoid of encounters. Imo it feels way more satisfying and real from a completion and progression standpoint than to have the starting enemy levels and population magically spawn back in around you.
On a side note, the only thing I absolutely hate about the FC series of late, and alot of other major titles in the genre, is that they give you the option to have a ton of fun using stealth and creating havoc from the shadows ... but then, in order to complete the game, that playstyle is ripped away from you and they throw you into on rail sequences and sealed off boss fights that generally never let you take a stealth approach. Very few games, in terms of story advancements and set piece design, give you the true satisfaction of being a "shadow warrior" the whole way through even though they claim to be an open world, play your way, experience.

I don't know why this is considered a bad thing to you. If people don't have trouble playing on normal, why play easy? If it's just normal and hard, that's fine to me. If the game is not even hard on the hardest difficulty, then an extra easier mode is redundant. I am a firm believer that less is more.
so you have played? is the game easy then….?
=====
I heard it wasn't just flat-out easy mode.
Apparently, it is still challenging, but we all have different skill levels, so there's that to consider, too.
@katzenkrimis71 Exactly - we all have different skill and preferences, so just 2 settings is a strange choice.
I am not a bad player but not a great one either, and on top of that - im playing on my PC with a controller, which isnt as efficient as my mouse.
And I like games that are hard. so Normal is likely to be fine, but not to my liking. I dont want "Fine". I want "Challenging".
If the game doesn't give me any reason to stealth or be clever than Im not gonna feel rewarded for overcoming fire fights.
There could be a difficulty option where health doesnt regen on it's own (you need to tap the "Heal" button, which, from what I heard, is on a cool down), or where im limited in some way to that there are harsher repercussions to dying. It doesnt have to go as hard as Survival or PD (Which both require often a large change in game mechanics), but more than just 2 settings.
I heard that enemies have a really good aim, which I hope is well balanced. i think enemies should have a worst aim than the player because they are many, and if enemies' aim is too good than the game usually tries to balance this by giving the player a lot of health or fast health regen and this means that if there arent a lot of enemies (as is the case in some bases or after killing most enemies) than there is no challenge.
I guess I'll need to play the game to know for myself and update.
I would love to see a realistic difficulty mode, where there is minimal sponge both ways… enemies go down quickly, but so does the player. In other words engaging in a fire fight out in the open should be lethal.
@lamoi
The game is definitely not as challenging it could be. The "harder" difficulty just adjusts how much damage enemies can take and deal to you, the detection speeds etc. stay the same on both difficulties. If you have played FC5 or FC4 this is exactly how those games played at normal difficulty.
I really hope they introduce a harder difficulty down the line which is actually based on tweaking the AI instead of their damage threshold. Last night I got out of the starter island and went immediately to the red skull marked level gated area. Unarmored enemies do not go down on one shot from a sniper headshot, straight hit from a stationary grenade launcher or even a direct hit from a battle tank unless you make the little numbers match. The enemies also magically can absorb more bullets if they are aware of your presence.
@lamoi
Remember how back in Wildlands it was really annoying how enemy corpses disappeared when you looked away from them? Well in this game the enemies respawn when you do the same. I have been running up and down this airstrip for 20 minutes now and every time I go back to the other end every single enemy has respawned. This effectively makes stealth completely pointless.

Ditto! Guess I'll be keeping my 60 bucks.
@igrvks----jeez! Bulletspongebob enemies, borked ammo system, FC 2 enemies (remember when enemy checkpoints would respawn as soon as you got about 100 yds away from them---sucked then; sucks now), and lame and lamer difficulty modes.
@topeira1980 It's true. Ubisoft replaced challenge and difficulty with the same bullet sponges and level gating from all its other games.
This is all very depressing. Hopefully they address some of this. Respawning enemies immediately is just unforgivable.
